Tire Dressing not drying

The tire brushes I use with my tire cleaners are still white for the most part so once you get a true tire cleaner, your brush might also get clean though it may have already stained and it also depends on the type of bristles. But my tire brushes are only used on tires, wheels on wheels/tires, etc so even if they stain, it shouldn’t matter much since you shouldn’t be using brushes on different parts of the car interchangeably as that is a good way to get scratches in unexpected areas due to cross contamination. This is also the theory behind different towels used on specific parts of the car. No chance of the paint getting marred by a towel used to dry the wheels if the wheel towel never gets used on the paint.

Mine are still greasy with the tire dressing :( I've had them soaking in Dawn/Simple Green and hot water for a week now :(

I don't use towels for drying wheels on anything else or brushes etc. Looks like I won't be using these drill brush and these two other hand brushes for anything now, lol...

Yes, but holy crap that’s a ripoff!lol.

That gallon costs $5 dollars at the 99cent store.

Your brushes will come clean.

Everything is a rip off up here, esp from Amazon.ca etc...

Well, I've not put dressing of any kind on my tires since I posted this and put some of this same CG VRP on again and of course its not drying again! I've been scrubbing the tires every time I clean it so they look good but are only matte/zero shine with nothing on them...

I used a microfiber pad to put it on, shook it very well etc and wiped it off after 5 min and again the next day and its still not drying!

Chemical Guys has great service it looks like. They were receptive and quick to my questions and offered to send a new VRP or some of their HydroShield to try (I didn't want something super shiny) , so I might try the HydroShield and see how it works :) Very nice to see a company stand by their products like this.

To me, VRP was one of the most disappointing tire products I ever used but I suppose YMMV

The shine was very short lived and it didn’t stand a chance against even slight wetness. Much less so than other dressings I tried. They at least lasted a little while longer.

Perhaps performance was dependent upon my tires though. The product might work better on other kinds of tires but not my Michelins. That’s why I said YMMV.

While I didn't mind VRP, I actually gave my bottle away to a co-worker.

As you say, longevity is considerably less than other water-based dressings. This is on purpose of course, it needs to be applied more often, meaning you use more product, meaning you go and buy more product..........the basic premise of all Chemical Guys products.

To the OP, perhaps it's time to try something different.

Hydro shield was ok.

Thanks for the links Guz. I watched one of those when looking up about it.

I liked the VRP initially, it had a good satiny finish when wiped down, and lasted ~a month for me though I didn't drive the car a ton, and it actually dried to begin with, so don't know what happened!

They have stood by their product and been receptive to my issues, even it means only getting a new type from them, I'll definitely try out what they send, even if it means trying something else new afterwards...

My something else new afterwards is finally going to be DG 253. I've delayed trying it for too long.

I just tried several tire dressings but decided to buy another bottle of DG253. Tried TWHSGATSSC, GYEON Tire, and one other but like the look and ease of application of DG253 best.

Anyone like the TW stuff? The DG253 seems to hard to get up here :(

Well, Chemical Guys is turning out to be a disappointment. I contacted them the start of July and still nothing other then "we are having issues sending stuff to Canada" reply :/ Not impressed at all now...

I tried the TW Graphene and got a couple weeks of gloss out of it. It's been a couple months and it isn't glossy but the tires still bead in the rain.

Still not a word from Chemical Guys since October.

Still nothing more from Chemical Guys, very disappointing and I will not be buying anything of theirs again.
