TLC Auto Detail:Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant vs. Ultima Tire and Trim Guard

thanks for the update, they both look like they are holding up well.
Yep, both looks pretty good. ETS a little better on the faded trim.
Waits to hear all the UTTG fanboys replies.

Wait, I'm an OPC fanboy! hahahaha :p
LMAO Mark!! Can't wait to hear how must testing is wrong....lol
Wow Davey, sorry I missed this buddy. Absolutely outstanding review. If I didn't know better I'd say you're bucking for a position at skycarcare.com.:D I haven't used the Wolfgang product yet (I'm sure it's great though). I have a considerable amount of UTTG (as we all know a great product) to use up. However, I have been using C4 on details where the client is willing to pay for it. All I can say is it's a whole other level of WOW! Any way great review my friend and thanks for taking the time to do it.:props:
Thanks Tadman!!! I also have a bunch of UTTG left, and I will continue to use it since it is such a great product...but maybe after it's gone I will order up some more ETS...we will see...lol. Oh and I still need to try C4, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

100% agree on all points! Dave your reviews are very objective and beautifully documented. You would be a great asset to skycarcare.com IMO.

Just a fantastic review and greatly appreciated. I was waiting to pull the trigger on one of these two, and now I am going to go ahead and dot it. I already have and like multiple WG products, and based on your review, I now feel confident in making the purchase.

Thanks to you and everyone else that takes the time to do these in depth reviews! :props:

Thanks for the kind words. I would have to say that in the grand scheme of things, you can't go wrong with either of these products!

Got a little update for you guys. This isn't based on a timeframe or anything, but i noticed that UTTG was starting to look a little faded.

First here is a picture of both dressings before being wiped down with water. I must admit I'm still slightly annoyed that both of these products are dust/dirt magnets! Nothing a quick wipe won't fix, but other products out there don't suffer from this problem IME.

All cleaned up, here is the first picture that we can really see how much darker ETS looks now. They have both faded, but the UTTG is fading quite a bit more than the ETS. It's still there, but getting lighter by the day.

Here is a close up of both dressings. Again you can clearly see that the ETS is darker.

Here is a close up of the ETS, still looking pretty good compared to the undressed trim.

and here is the picture that truly shows how much the UTTG has faded. It was so hard to see that the UTTG was still there that I had to add a red line to show where the dressing started.

Now I'm not actually disappointed in either of these products. This trim was very faded, and hadn't been cared for in the early years of this vehicle. This was a true test of trim restoration, and not trim protection. That being said I don't think there is another dressing (not coating) on the market that would last as long as either of these products. In total it has been 53 days since these dressings were applied. Consider both are still there, thats pretty good in my book. I would assume by the next update the UTTG will be gone completely, but I have high hopes for the ETS.

Thanks for looking, and I look forward to your comments!

Camera Flash or lighting playing around? In the shot further out the UTTG/ETS looks very even (3), in your 4th picture they still look even, it isn't till the 5th picture the undressed looks just like UTTG.

But in the 1st picture the WETS is much better looking than the UTTG side. Kind of disappointing however that UTTG isn't holding up as well in your test. I have a brand new bottle of the stuff never used and kind of feels a bit wasted.

No playing around, just different angles to show what i saw in person.
