Aaryn.

Thanks for sharing your story Aaryn, your an inspiration to us all. You and your family have seen more troubles than you should at such a young age. Looking forward to your post and your success with the shop.

Amazing story Aaryn. You are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. :xyxthumbs:

Sorry to hear Everything you've gone thru, but always remember god is great! Happy
To hear you and the family are doing good my friend. God bless you.

Thank you. :xyxthumbs:

Congrats on what you've accomplished so far!
God bless!

Thank you. :xyxthumbs:

Your son will always have his sister looking over him and your family. I cannot imagine how difficult that has been for your family. In my life when there has been a loss, it makes me appreciate the little things in life. I'm sorry for loss of your daughter.

Benjamin looks about as cute as they come:). That Combi is one of the coolest kids vehicle I've seen.

I wish your health, family, and business the best. Love those cars that we never get to see in the US. Something about that Datsun and Escort that is just too cool. As I get older I seem to be more interested in older cars.

Thank you. :xyxthumbs:

Exactly, the little things in life are where its at. :props: I am a bit jealous of Benjamin to be honest, looking at the prices Kombis are reaching these days, it looks as if he will be the only one in this family that will ever own one! Pleased you enjoy the odd cars we get down here.

Damn, Aaryn. That was pretty great of you to share your story. I know you have been through quite a bit, but I will say this: You, more than anyone are equipped to overcome all of it.

I don't know you personally of course, but through your posts I can tell you are a man with a lot of passion for whatever you do. NZ to Florida? Now that's not an easy trip. But you guys made it happen. And I believe you will keep making things happen through good, bad, and indifferent. Always look forward to your threads.

Just a great post, bro. And your family is absolutely beautiful.

Thank you. :xyxthumbs:

I do have a beautiful family indeed. :xyxthumbs: They are everything to me.

I plan on coming back to Florida for Detail Fest 2018 . . . . fingers crossed.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to post a comment to this thread. Thank you to everyone involved in the running of this forum, & thank you to the members who make this forum a second home. :dblthumb2:

I am truely humbled by the comments, & although I had no idea my story was inspiring, if just one person reads this, & in times of struggle this story gives the strength for that extra step - then thats awesome. I lost my Father exactly 10 years to the day my precious babies were born, & that makes Fathers day one heck of a day but I have somewhat some comfort thinking our Charlotte is there with Dad looking down on us with love & pride.

Through the struggle of writing about our story, I kind of missed what I was trying to get across about attending Boot Camp & the successes, although blurred, that we have had & will continue to into the future. With all that we had going on behind the scenes & the obvious effects this had on the shop, we continued to grow & establish our shop as the "go to" shop for detailing in our region, & around the Country. Whilst the books are a little hard to piece together, for us its easy to see that our growth has been very steady. As of July 2016 we started a Facebook page for the shop & the feedback & responses have been outstanding. We otherwise don't advertise at all but this has opened our eyes to what is possible with a little marketing & with a bigger shop in the pipeline later this year, expansion is a possibility. So, although we haven't the figures to prove it, I have no doubts in my mind that attending Mikes Boot Camp/Competition Ready classes has helped tenfold in the ongoing success of Details - a little shop at the top of the South Island of New Zealand!

I thoroughly reading enjoyed your experience.

Best of luck in the future good sir!

I can't begin to imagine how hard this journey must have been for you and your family Aaryn and to see how you have come through it is truly an inspiration. You are a hell of a man my friend!!!!

I think that you being comfortable enough to share you story on this forum speaks volumes about how much more than a forum this place truly is. I think many of us see it as a second family and I wish you guys all the best, not only for the shop, but in your personal journey too.

Kind words my friend thank you. And, thank you for your contributions too Lawrence, all too often, it was your posts that lifted me the most. Getting lost in a post from lawrenceSA is inspirational & reinforces just why we love detailing. :props:

Prime example - both of you Men are on the other side of the World from me but both I consider good friends.

Wow, very brave story here Aaryn... I think you are amazing for picking yourself up and how you've kept on going. That's something to be very proud of. I'm very sorry to hear of your loss, but thrilled about your son.
I wish you love, luck and prosperity this year and many to come.

Thank you for the kind words my friend. I'm more proud of my Wife for all that she has been through. I will never forget the look on her face when the Doctor said I was having a serious heart attack, as I was laying on the hospital bed & my Wife was stood there holding a five month old baby Benjamin - broke my heart. (pardon the pun)

Good luck my friend. The photos of your work are amazing. You might check your camera. Looks like it is reversing all of your photos. The steering wheels are all on the wrong side...................phil

Wow Aaryn, such an amazing story! Thanks for sharing your bootcamp story, things you went through and the cars you've detailed.

I'm so sorry on what happened to your daughter. That's an awesome pic of your son wiping his VW bus hehehe!

I'm glad you were able to pull through the heart attack. Please take it easy - I know it's easier said than done.

You are an awesome person with a beautiful heart. In a world where we are surrounded with material things, it's awesome that you don't think about the money is what makes a person successful. Having "true" friends including the friends you've met here in the geek is definitely a treasure. And being able to stand up from all the ordeals you went through makes you a successful person in my book. :xyxthumbs:

I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks to PaulMys for letting me know about this. :)

Hahaha, yeah mate - I look at the pictures here & still, I think - Huh? Felt like an utter dork when arriving in Ft Lauderdale & jumped in . . . the damn drivers seat! Then almost filled my pants when we pulled out on the wrong side of the road!!! It's not like we didn't know all this before coming over but still a weird sensation.

So many people with so many nice things to say - my family keeps getting bigger! Y'all don't come to stay all at once though guys. :dblthumb2:

Thank you, I do look back & think - it seemed like every light at the end of the tunnel was just another train coming to run us down again, geeze - two weeks after I had my heart attack our Dog Oscar, a 15 year old Bicheon Frise sadly had to be put down . . . standing up got slower with each hit but battered & bruised, we stood together.

Appreciate your comments my friend.
