To extract or steam?

Makes sense to me :). So do you ever use any APC or upholstry cleaner first and then steam it or are you going straight for the steam and let it do ALL the work? Have you used it at all on an engine yet (or would you?)
 
On really bad spots i treat first with some type of apc or carpet cleaner then steam or extract or both. no i haven't tried on a engine yet.The steam may be good to do touch up and light cleaning under the hood but for a complete steam clean i think you would need a way more powerfull machine in the form a gas fired steamer which cost way to much to buy unless you have a lot of cars and trucks your going to do the undercarriage on.Even then you need to be able to not let the dirt wash down the street EPA laws .I try to stay away from doing the under the hood stuff maybe a light once over but no heavy cleaning.

Ya i thought so but figured id ask:). So what did yours end up costing you...what do you think are the best/must have attachments. I forget the name but is it one where you can constantly fill it without having to turn it off or do you have to shut it down, refill and then let it reheat?

Yeah i checked out that site...lots of nice steamers...that triangle head you were talking about is one of the main ones i thought would be useful...go figure they dont have one...can you buy an attachment made by someone else to fit yours or do you have to buy their specific brand?

Have any pictures of the results of your steamer, id love to see:)
