Today's Tragedy

^^^ Agree. Just to throw a curve ball out there, theres a reference to Sandy Hook on the new Batman movie. Look if up online its stirring up quite the debate. Poped in the movie and saw it for myself I dont know what to think. Two shooting sprees connected to one movie? Hmmm

If spouting religious rhetoric and feel good scripture makes you feel good, by all means go for it. IF you have a bad guy break into your home and threaten your family, spout off all the religious BS you care to. Myself, I am putting two his chest be it an evil Glock or an even more evil AR-15... or maybe even my AR-10. No questions asked and no hesitation.

Firing a AR-15/AR-10 inside your home with your family there wouldn't be a wise move. Didn't you learn this before you purchased these weapons? Your family's biggest threat would be you ;)

That statement, in Matt. 26:52. He didn’t say that all who live by the sword will die by the sword, and it wasn’t a general admonition.

He told Peter to put his sword away and told him all who draw the sword will die by the sword. He was reminding Peter that the disciples were hopelessly out numbered. If they resisted they’d be killed, and He had promised not to lose any of them. John 18:8-9 tells us He then persuaded the soldiers to let the disciples go and just take Him.

Flash, you didn't answer me. If someone comes to do you harm (or another) such as rape, torture, beating, you or your loved ones, how will you defend yourself? Lets say it's a guy on PCP with a baseball bat or three hoodlums out to do no good. Hmmmm?

And you know this how? First, a 75-77 grain 5.56 projectile is optimal for maximum soft tissue penetration. It is devistating. It also mitigates over-penetration or pass through. It it less likely to over penetrate hard barriers than some handgun rounds.

Second, you know nothing of my firearms training or knowledge. FYI, I learned quite a bit about the M4 at Fort Benning.

Fixed if for ya :props:

IF you were confronted by an armed assailant and your only protection was your bible or scripture, YOU would be YOUR family's biggest threat - or let down. Sorry, that's the way it is. Living in an idylic world is a great thing, until reality pays a visit.

Thanks for that. I COMPLETELY agree, blindly firing a rifle or any type of weapon in a "spray & pray" manner is not wise and irresponsible, not to mention dangerous. You are ill-advised to question one's weapons training when you have absolutely no idea. I will agree, there are a lot of people with a "Rambo" complex and own rifles they have no business owning. If a firearm is used improperly and collateral injury or death occurs, there are laws and punishment in place to deal with that.

Jesus said:
"For all who draw the sword will die by the sword"

Matthew 26:52
52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

Meaning if you take up the sword in the act of violence you shall perish by the sword. If you actually study this verse you will see that many biblical scholars and pastors draw a clear distinction here between:
Living by the sword - living a life of violence.

And

Drawing your sword in self defense and defense of your family.

Your trying to misconstrue a verse that you obviously haven't studied.

What do you mean he didn't say this? Do you not have a bible Joe?

Sounds like you've got it all figured out

Actually, you didn't fix anything. You just changed my words to suit yourself

You would have to be a Christian to comprehend where I am coming from. I understand your confusion. There was a time I thought like you do

When Peter sliced off the roman soldiers ear, do you think that was self defense or a violent act?

Flash Gordon; What do you mean he didn't say this? Do you not have a bible Joe?

I didn't proof read. You get my point. A-train said it better than I anyway.

You never answered my question. If the boogie man comes to visit tonight........?

I just cannot bare to argue with bible thumpers... You protect yourself with your beliefs and your bible, I will use other means. If that offends you... well... so be it.

Josh he doesn't have it right. It is clearly in the Bible not to be meek and to let persons that want to do us or others harm let be. I love Jesus and I will put lead in a bad guy without a second thought about it.
