Probably the first and only Kia Sportage to "grace" (thats being VERY generous) the forums lol. I've known the owner for years and he's brought me a ton of cars, on top of that I owed him a pretty big favor. This is what he chose to use it on. I think some of the appeal of doing this was it was a challenge. As you will see it was in a very poor state. Also smoked badly and had a very bad oil leak every time it was started. I think he got this car for practically nothing and was going to fix it up to flip it. I do like challenges, but I think I reached my limit with this one, and never want to see another car like this again lol. But I knew it would make for a good transformation.

I'm going to apologize now for what you're about to view. Its ok to leave now, before you're scarred from looking... lol

After cleaning the wheels I started taking pics..

Thanks for looking at this complete piece of automotive inadequacy. My apologies to your eyes. ;)

nothing wrong with a Kia! This one looks a little jacked up by the wells though. Nice job

Excellent job of turning a dirty pigs rump into a clean shiny pigs rump.

Would you be horrified to find out that the difference in resale between before and after is only $39.95 Even flawless bacon is only going to be worth so much a pound.

But I know how you feel. I just did an old Ford Fiesta for a friend. And he was giving it to charity.

Looks like the owners have gotten a lot of use out of that car.

Thanks for sharing your excellent work!

Thanks.

$39.95?

the only thing that matters is the end result...:dblthumb2:

he's saying thats all the car is worth. To him anyways.

These are the kind of project details I like to view. That my friend is a excellent job based on the condition brought to you. Impressed.

Nothing for YOU to apologize for (unless that's your cookie on the rug). That is a nice example of what can be done by someone who knows what they are doing. If you start with a Maybach, you get a detailed uber car worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. A whole lot easier to look good when you start with a diamond instead of a stone.

You started with nothing and made it look pretty darn good and I think thats harder to do (but less expensive if you screw it up). Thanks for sharing this work!:dblthumb2:

Damn fine work both in and out. Your favor is now paid in full and you got a ball point pen and a cookie out of the deal!

HMMMM did that cookie move? Did you see that? UH-OH

Lookin' very nice! Great job! :props:

Did you dress the exterior plastics? They look kinda "blah" to me.

I was waiting to see the "DREADED CHICKEN BONE"!!! Great job!!! What kind of extractor did you use???

Thanks. Yes I dressed them after the final pics. Its noted in the writeup right before the finished pics.

Wow... that was a nightmare. Excellent turnaround!

Just goes to show that you can polish a turd, and that is one shiny turd!

Fantastic job. What did you treat the pedals with to get the shine? Does it make them slippery?
