A family member just recently (within two weeks) just took delivery of a new 2014 Porsche 911 (dark metallic blue). The car rolled out of the factory around January, so the paint has cured/degassed.

The car was prepped half decent from the dealer, considering it doesn't have DISO (dealer installed swirl option) too bad. :xyxthumbs: There are some imperfections that I plan to polish out. I'm thinking go middle of the road polish with a light cutting pad and finish with a finishing polish with a pad with little/no cut (considering Porsche paint is quite soft). :buffing:

I plan to do an IPA wipe down and go with Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 for durability reasons. I have thought about topping the sealant with something to give it some extra depth and wetness (increase the jetting factor) for all you scientific folks. I have Pinnacle Souveran (paste), Wolfgang Fuzion (paste), and plenty of other run of the mill liquid waxes. Is it worth it to apply something like Fuzion over the sealant? I understand applying Souveran over it will increase depth/wetness but may not bead as well.

The car is going to be garaged and hand washed only with a mild ph neutral soap, so no worries there. :autowash: If anyone has some feedback on what I might top WGDGPS with for that EXTRA POP it would be greatly appreciated. Feed back please

Thanks in advance - Matt.

Fugettabout the Wax...
Another application of WGDGPS 3.0
will be the bee's knees!!

Note:
Unless at a Car Show...
Then it's Meguiar's M26: For The Win (###!!)

Top it with Fuzion!

I just used WG 3.0 and Fuzion on an LS 460 and it came out great. The Fuzion definitely added a deeper wetter look to the paint.

here's my car with one coat WGDGPS topped with chemical guys pete's 53

Since you are planning on a light polish before WGDGPS, I would use a Wolfgang Polish so you can skip the IPA wipe down.

I did a 911 4S with paint so soft that the IPA wipe down was leaving straight line micro marring. I switched over to CarPro Eraser and did not have the same issue.

Not a Fan of IPA...zero lubrication.

FLEX 3401 w/ Orange pad and WGTSR followed by Lake Country CCS Blue Pad with WGFG. Went straight to WGDGPS.

My experience with Fuzion over WGDGPS on my Yukon is that it collects significantly more dust than WGDGPS alone

I tell you what looks great , a coat of Wolfgang Glossy Paint Sealant topped with Chemical Guys EZ Cream Glaze but the glaze is short lived.
To he honest with you though the sealant alone is all you need, it will give you a great shine and will leave the finish extremely slick.

With this said it's your choice, top it with a glaze or a good carnauba, nothing to lose but something to gain even though you may not see much of a difference.

IMO the WGGPS is the best paint sealant out there, my second choice would be the DP Paint Sealant.

Do a 50/50 on the hood

2 coats of WGDGPS

vs

1 coat of WGDGPS topped with Wax

Looking forward to seeing your results and hearing your thoughts after application

You my lose if:

- The "Topper" diminishes the fantastic beading of WGDGPS alone

- The "Topper" holds more dust than WGDGPS alone

Looking forward to the objective review and 50/50 shots & impressions on OP's vehicle.

Clay and Iron-X that baby before anything would be my suggestion.

Thanks for all the feedback!!

I think I will stick to one coat of WGDGPS. In terms of the topper collecting dust, the car is going to get regularily washed, so that really is not an issue, especially when spring is over and pollen isn't everywhere. The car is not really going to be driven a ton in the rain so beading isn't a primary concern either. It's really about looks at this point. I may top it with butter wet from chemical guys (and do a reapplication every 6 weeks or so; I have a ton of the stuff). I am not too worried about trying to add more durability with something like Fuzion, but Fuzion does look really good. Anyone against Souveran paste? Let me see if I can convince my dad to go for some 50/50 experiments. (maybe even a 25/25/25/25; WGDGPS vs. WGDGPD + Fuzion vs. WGDGPS + CG Butter Wet vs. WGDGPS + Souveran. I'll tell him it's for a good cause.

Just washed and decontaminated. Went for a test spot on the hood w v36 on a cg hex logic white pad (flex 3401). Didn't like results. Not enough cut. Went to same product w/ hex logic green (flex 3401). Good results. Then tried to finish with black cg hex logic pad and v38 (flex 3401). No straight line micro marring after IPA wipe down but definitely induced swirls. Tried another pass w black pad w v38 on PC 7424xp. No good. Went back to flex 3401 w cg black hex logic pad w menzerna 4000 and it was money. Wish I had 3000 and 4500 because that's most likely the golden ticket. Apparently v36/v38 doesn't like this super soft Porsche paint. Sf4000 will be the go to. Took some pics and will show led light shots on hood when completed. Then time for WGDGPS and most likely fuzion. Might go 50/50 w Souveran on the hood.

Stand by for pics tonight hopefully. Thread will not be 56K friendly to say the least.

Sorry for the late response. Here are the pictures everyone has eagerly been awaiting... please note all pictures were taken on an iPhone 5 :/

Car was protected with one coat of WGDGPS 3.0 and topped with one coat of Wolfgang Fuzion!
