Need a shoulder to cry on guys - thanx in advance for listening....

Today's schedual :

Full interior / one step exterior on Avalanche 0700 to 1200 (3 guys)

Full Interior on Camry 1:00 to 5:00 (2 guys)

Basic Package on SUV 6:00 to 8:00 (2 guys)

Work on Semi interiors tonight (whatever can get done) 9:00 till too tired to work

Simple relaxing no rush day planned very well if I may say so myself lol.....

How the day really went :

First job ran a little past noon so I went to get the keys for our next vehicle a town over (long story)...... As Im half way there, get a call saying that all the rags are in the van, so turned around. Dropped rags off and got halfway there again and the guys called saying, "we didn't grab any interior shine or glass cleaner." Ok now I am annoyed and starting to get a bit irritated. I pressed on to get the keys..... got the keys and the van wouldn't start! Oh ****! So now I call my wife to bring the other work truck which could only be done till she picked the kids up from school.....

130 rolls around! So I have guys sitting at a job that should've been done and Im just now getting picked up by my wife in the work truck. Get to the first job, with a crying baby in the truck and a lady that is ready to go. Ok so burn through the rest of the interior! So client is super happy, I smile to the best of my ability, then play sardens in the work truck. Wife, baby, and 5 year old in back - 3 grown men in the front - one of which I kept touching his leg everytime I made a damn turn :/ .

Get to next job now about an hour and a half behind - push through it like crazy...... client still had to wait for about 20 minutes longer than expected :( He was happy but now that he left we had to figure out what to do with the van. So Tyson stayed behind and waited for a tow truck while Blake and I went to go pick up some MFs that my wife kindly washed for us....... so come home pick up some needed stuff, head to the other job and half way there Blake says, "Did we get the rags?" :bash:

That was it for me - told Tyson to call the last job up and reschedule :surrender:..... that is maybe the 3rd time that has happened in almost 2 years  - But I seriously felt like something bad was gonna happen. All in all the guy was fine with rescheduling, but still hurt deep down to do that.

So I am praying for a good day tomorrow - can't take many days like this! Thanks for letting me vent guys!

This may not help your day...but, you know what would help you? A shop, and the customers coming to you, ha. Seriously...you need a shop!

At least that way you can stay at the shop, send your guys out, and let them deal with that crap.

True - and a shop is coming..... but what I don't understand is that this days were extremely rare last year - but this year it seems to be happening more and more...... don't think that my heart can handle much more - all the stress, beef jerkey, and starbucks that I consume daily lol.

Ha, I hear ya man. The busier you get, the more it will probably happen. That day you had is the exact reason I don't care much for mobile. It's just not for me. I'd rather be at my shop, and simply offer mobile if I HAVE to.

Hey man there will always be days like this. I once sent a a block and head, timing cover to get decked. Timing cover was not decked, so I had to go back get it decked etc. Car was supposed to be ready for an NSCRA event and customer just barely made it. I was going to attend but didn't make it due to working all night on assembly then tuning. Not fun, slept about 12hrs straight.

But you definitely did the right thing, things just did not seem to line up, not always a good idea to push the issue.

I can say that I love being mobile man - something you and I have always seemed to be opposite on...... but it is how I have done it for almost 12 years now on and off! A shop is coming hopefully in the near future though - mainly for corrections and so that I can have an actual office to go to (can't work well with the kids and wife busting in my office every 5 minutes pestering me). If I wasn't mobile - all the buses, semis, and most of my regular clients would not use my services unfortunately...... having both will be nice though (give me 12 months).

Yup, we've said many times...we are in the same industry but are complete opposites, ha. Too bad we weren't in the same state. We'd have everything on lock down, ha.

True - just gotta push through and see the bigger picture I think :dblthumb2:

Oh yeah - we would dominate :bat::bat: - kidding, but not kidding.

At least you earned income today.
Spent my day quoting and scheduling non detail related job for this weekend.
Lady signed the contact less than 2 hours ago.
No income earned today.
