Hey guys I washed my friends new to him jeep and put a coat of Mothers Cleaner wax on it. We both didn't have the time to clay it or do anything more in depth then just to wash and wax it. So here is the issue, their are some orange splatters on the hood. The way it splattered looks like bird poop. But it is orange? Im thinking the previous owner never washed it off, god knows how long it has been sitting on their. I tried claying it, using bug and tar remover and the cleaner wax. None of these worked at all. It seems like I can scrap it a little with my finger nail but it seemed like it was scratching. Any ideas what product I can use to remove these spots?
Thanks and hopefully you guys can help!

If you clay it might help. May want to compound polish and then seal

As I said above I did clay it. You think a compound would work?

I came across this on the last car I did. Was a wash and wax, but obviously I wasn't giving the car back with this stuff still stuck to the hood.

I ended up using ultimate compound on a slower speed, was off the paint in a few passes.

Ok thanks Mike. I will have to try that out. I was thinking of buying Meguiars DA microfiber correction system for my honda civic. I guess ill try some out on this.
Thanks again.
Anyone else have any ideas?

Scratching what...the stain or the cc?

When i scraped the stain with my fingernail it seemed to me like it was i was scratching off the clear coat? I could be wrong though...

I see stuff like that on vehicles around my area. It's usually berries, or crab apples that dropped on to the vehicle. Has it been parked under any trees?

I had what looked like bird poop etching that I couldn't remove with clay. I tried M105 / 205 and it came off pretty easily.

A Bird's diet does play an important role in what it splatters upon vehicles, and other objects; along with time, the elements, and ASAP removal attempts!

10-04 hand. Sounds like the buzzard poop etched through the cc.

Hope it's not the vehicle's CC that's been compromised...But it sounds like the splatter's been there for a while, with plenty of time to do its: #@*ing (etching, that is) damage.

:)

Thanks guys. My friend just bought the jeep and god knows how long it was on their for. When i get some compound I will defiently try it out. I never thought of berries or some sort of food but that could very well be.
