Trim Restore on 14 year old Xterra

I've always used PreWow as prep and black wow pro for restoration.

Also note I have Solution Finish and Detail Kings Trim kote...they usually just reserves these days
You seem to know your stuff. I trust your recommendations.

Clean the heck out of the trim first.

I strongly agree. In all my classes, I show machine scrubbing. Humans are puny. Machines never get tired. Hand scrubbing is tiresome.

Example

10 cars detailed in 2 days! Texas Roadshow Detailing Class!

Here's Andrew machine scrubbing the 303 Multi-Surface Cleaner over the weathered plastic on the Chevy Avalanche

I could do this all day - that is post pictures of people machine scrubbing plastic at my classes.

Need advice...
I used Solution Finish Black on all trim(2008 F350) which was exposed to rain 3 days after application. It ran onto the paint.
Did I not prep properly, put on too heavy??
I did wipe down heavy spots with a microfiber.

The truck was coated with BF Pro Ceramic. How do I clean from paint now?

Should not have happened 3 days later. Not cleaned properly and/or too much SF.

Prep is the key for restoring such old trim. It doesn't matter much which product you use after prep work. Even great protection product will fail if you don't remove embedded dirt, and oxidation properly.

I use multiple techniques for prep work.

1) The most cost effective way to deep clean is to use Mother's Heavy Duty Trim Cleaner.
Mothers Back to Black Heavy Duty Trim Cleaner, best car wax remover plastic trim
It's only a cleaner with no protection ingredients and I found it extremely effective for removing oxidation, embedded dirt, and old wax residue on plastic trim. Use it either with hard brush included in the kit or with old foam medium cut pad on machine. Here's product demonstration using brush included in the kit. Note that the plastic restored here is 7 years old and the owner never applied any protectant.

The video is not in English language so just move to 4:46 to check the usage of this product.

2) Use water based polish like Sonax EX 04-06 with medium cut foam pad since it won't stain the trim but clean it extremely well.
SONAX EX 04-06 250 ml.
This technique is showed in the video below using both machine and hand polishing. Since I don't have small machine with small pads so I machine polished the areas where I could reach with big pad and then use hand polishing to focus the edges.

Move the seek bar to 1:28.
