Trim Restorer Showdown - Round 2 (Long and Pic heavy)

Wow... what a fantastic and in depth review! Thank you! Now I need to order some C4!

I treated the trim on my wife's G8 with the original formula of UTTG a couple of months ago,or possibly even 3 months ago. The side mirrors still looked good, but the cowl showed signs of fading. You could tell it was still there, but I applied another coat to the cowl. I went ahead and reapplied UTTG to all the other trim as well. The beading was still quite strong though just as in your test. I have used Pinnacle rinseless which probably helped with the beading too. The product works really nice on tires also. It looks AWESOME on initial application. The shine falls off some after a few days or so,but I went a month or so through quite a bit of rain before I thought the tires needed to be cleaned.

I have purchased DG 271,and I'm anxious to see how well it performs.

Wow! What an epic review!! I am new to the site and really appreciate the info you guys post on your reviews. I can only imagine the time and work involved in doing something like this. THANK YOU for doing so. I hope I can do something to contribute one day soon.:dblthumb2:

this should most definitely be a sticky! Thanks to Mindi for posting the link in my request for trim treatment!

This is a great resource Nth degree thanks so much!

Used solution finish and topped with Sonax PNS to help the beading. Good stuff!

I just tried turtle wax jet black trim coat and I have mixed feelings about it. Seems to be very temperamental concerning the plastic surface

Awesome review.

I have a 2003 Honda Element with as much plastic as metal so this thread is a very good resource for me.

Thanks!

When might we expect round 3. It's been several months since you announced it............... just curious if there is some sort of hold up.

You have sold me on Car Armor. I have several coats of gTechniq C4 on my car's black cadding and trim. Do you see any problem with putting Car Armor over the C4???

For whatever this is worth....Carmor Fare 2 New has gone out of business!

When round 3 comes, penetrol needs to be on the list. Continues to amaze me since I started using it several months ago

I have C4 and DLUX for my own (and my family's) cars, but I've been impressed with the TW Endurance trim coating for cars I don't see too often. I just ordered Black Wow Pro for that same purpose -- I have a couple of SUVs to do, with tons of faded cladding. People who pay me to clean their cars and make them "shiny again" aren't overly concerned with a product's longevity, and many -- if not most -- silicone- or dye-based products provide that initial impact and last long enough without a sudden failure that people don't seem to have complaints.

That said, the TW Endurance seems to perform similarly to their tire coating, fading gradually and gracefully over the course of several months. It's so good that I have to remember to which cars I've applied it so I can reapply it when they come back. I'm hoping the BWP is that good because at the sale price I paid, it should work out to a few cents per car, and maybe a couple of bucks for an SUV like the Element.

Read the Penetrol on HD web site and it's use,so how is it applied for trim?
