Trying to decide which one Rupes LHR 15 MK II or Griots Boss 15

Rupes.

If nothing else you'll be supporting the innovators of large throw DA polishers. And may, just maybe - they'll continue to bring MORE cool new study to the market (like iBrid) - faster than the East can copy them.
 
I guess the other option would be the Griots pneumatic tool with 10mm throw. OP, do you have access to air? The torque pneumatic provides is impressive. I have the Rupes Mini pneumatic and that thing is a beast.

Or the east from me in Florida over the pond in Germany copying them, like the "innovative" Flex XFE LOL.
Oh wait, didn't a Chinese company buy Flex a few years ago?

The highest I run my unmoderated Duetto has been 4. 5 if I have a weird spot. 3 - 3.5 with microfiber pads

Everything changed when I replaced the worn shroud, and engaged the anti-spin feature. I like it more. I get more of the orbit working than just relying on the rotation.

I watched a coarse blue pad, loaded with Zephir stop rotating, and proceed to remove paint transfer. Wasn't expecting that to happen. The finish that coarse pad and compound leaves behind was fantastic.
 
Have the rupes mkii 21 and I absolutely love it. It's got more than enough power and like mentioned before at level 3, it's has more than enough power to correct. Don't know how the g21 is in vibrations, but on my rupes they're barely existent at all. I still want to pick up a 15, was considering a g15 but I'm Ina stick to rupes, plus their system is phenomenal as well.

The G21 when used with the Griots pads as the Ruoes is when used with Rupes pads as both were designed as systems is virtually vibration free. What I really like about my G21 is I can run 6" and 5" backing plates as they are interchangeable and their is change in balance of the machine.

But that being said my tool of choice is my Rupes Duetto as it's light and easy to use. I have retired my LHR 15 a couple years ago since buying the Duetto. The LHR 15 is was dated once the Duetto was released . I see no measurable difference in performance between it and the Duetto except it is heavier and bigger.
 
Rupes 15 MKII. I had the 21 and went to the 15 MKII - perfect all around polisher.
 
Rupes, Rupes, Rupes. Go with the original and the innovator. Stay away from copies. You will have a tool you will be proud of and you will never question your decision. Plus they have great support right here on this forum.

IMO the G21 runs noticably smoother with "Rupes style" pads vs. the thinner Boss Foam Pads..

Best way I could describe it it would be:
G21 w/Thin Boss Foam Pads is like a Cadillac Seville STS. Firm, borderline stiff suspension/ride. Choppy at high speeds over railroad tracks.

G21 w/LC HD Orbitals is like a Cadillac Seville SLS. Comfortable, smooth, floats like a cloud at high speeds over railroad tracks.

I used to own an Eldorado Touring Coupe. Loved the way the car looked, I didn't really care for the firm ride and stiff suspension..

Now I drive a Seville SLS. I wish it looked like an STS, but boy do I love the ride of the car:)

Glad you got the 21 instead of the 15, the legacy 15 is a good machine, but compared to the boss or the new mkII polishers it is lacking the punch that those polishers provide.

Not only will you see a fast rate of defect removal with the 21 your going to love that power that sometimes holding that legacy 15 didnt provide.

The benefits of the 21 are amazing and can cut similar to a rotary and finish much better. I always use the 3401 with the 4 inch plate to conpliment where my 21 lacks and cant do the job. Or use my g15 or rupes 15.

But whenever i can , the 21 will always be my first choice.
 
I need a 21 in my life, have all the other type polishers, now my collection will be complete. The LHR 15ES I have is the 230V facelift(different trigger,cord,revised backing plate)newer model compared to what you guys have there,its quite abit more powerful than the American 15ES and cuts faster than my 3401, so can only imagine what a 21 MKII is like.

Perception is a funny thing.

When discussing the 15, and 21 es models, the 15es gives up 6mm, and gains some rotation. The Duetto gives up 3mm, and gains rotation. On paper, I can't see how the 15es is that much different to justify the cost of having both. I could see a 21, 15 or Duetto, Mini, Nano set up, but having the 15 and Duetto seemed redundant.

But there is preference. A lot of people like that rotary style chassis. I personally prefer the traditional d/a style chassis, and that's why I went with the Duetto.

Also, the Mark II changes the playing field in every way. I'd be interested in a Duetto MK2. But I'm more than satisfied with the performance of the machine as it stands today.
 
Duetto Mark II would be sick!! Especially if there was an Ibrid version
 
Duetto Mark II would have been my #1 choice. The current is underpowered, IME. I just bought another 12mm from a different company which should have more power
