Helped a friend out yesterday just to remove some dullness from his car. XMT worked well but after seeing it in the sun today I do see some slight buffer trails. I used a rotary at 1500-1800 rpm, with white pad.

The 2 questions are:
1. Short term, how best to remove them with XMT? Use green pad? Maintain same speed?
2. Long term - how can I do this better as a one-step process? Use suggested green pad (from bottle) from the start? Should I change the suggested speed (also, from the bottle) at all?

Thanks,
Howard

Wish I could help on rotary but I've only used xmt for da. I've had most luck with green and white css pads on my griots da.

I just did a white mercades yesterday using a DA with a back pad. no problems.
also used it with a white pad once before. sorry never used it with a rotary, If u are not
experinced and dont do this all the time i would stick with a DA polisher

Sounds way too fast. I'm not sure what 360 recommends but normally I stay around 800-1000 on a rotary unless heavy cutting.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using AG Online

Ditto. 1000 would be the very max speed I would use. Most likely 600-800. Personally I wouldn't use a rotary with xmt 360.

i have only used a rotary once, and the highest setting i ever used was a 2 and that was on the FLEX PE-14. i only use the Flex 3401 and with XMT 360 its on a white 5" hybrid pad

Optimal speed on a rotary polisher would be 600-1000 RPM with this product.

To avoid swirl marks and holograms, apply it with a DA (dual action) polisher, like the FLEX XC3401, Porter Cable 7424xp, etc. :dblthumb2:

okay, thanks all..........will rerun soon at lower speeds and with a green pad
