Ultima: "Clearly Different"! What makes it so?

optimum car wax is not meant to be used as a drying aid. the car should have most of the water removed first. just fyi. there instant detailer is meant to be a drying aid and offers serious protection a well.

Also Optimum Car Wax offers serious protection. more than Aquawax from what I understand.

What a helpful post, thanks! I feel like I'm using the right product for my purposes. For reducing spots while drying, I just dry in the shade and make sure to re-mist the car just prior to drying.

Aquawax is a water based product and works well in the drying process. Aquawax is also pretty reasonably priced and I tend to use it as a QC also. I am not sure about using Optimum as a drying aid as I have never tried it. Let us know how it works :xyxthumbs: A "Test Spot" is called for!!

Thanks guys :)

Just used the ultima paint prep plus on my brothers Subaru forester. Came out awesome. I have compounded it before so it had shallow wash swirls when I polished it this time. Nice glossy finish.

:):):) that too Fred! So hard to narrow down an Ultima list eh?!

Ultima Paint Guard Plus
LOL thanks. I was wondering why Corey didn't mention UPGP in his must haves.

BTW, how did your Grabber Blue Stang look the next day. After about 12 hours curing UPGP really starts to "Glow"

Yes it is, hard to get enough of Ultima products.

I'm finally (After a week and a half) feeling better. Might be a good weekend for polishing and applying UPGP to the Fusion.

Does anyone know based on manufacturing date, when the latest 45 minute layerable version of UPGP was introduced? I want to know whether my bottle is going to need 12 hours between layers or just 45 minutes.

Since stumbling onto AG while looking for some detailing products for my latest toy, and reading/joining in these forum discussions, I've learned an awful lot about what I might have been doing wrong, how I could change my approach to detailing, some of the best known and most reputable products, and opinions and general thoughts on how well each of those products work.

I have to say how much I appreciate the wonderful opinions by CEE DOG, backed up by detailed reviews, that I've come across, and this one on the Ultima Line of Products is a case in point.

Although it sometimes takes me a while to figure out all these abbreviations for product names that many of you throw around so knowingly, I'll be ordering some Ultima Tire & Trim Guard + (UTTG) next week with a couple of other things on my wish list. I also have no doubt that I'll be trying some of the other products Ultima has to offer before too long.

Thanks CEE DOG. Nicely done!!

Its been near 2+ years I believe. Do you need a more narrow time frame? Apologies for the late reply - you can contact me anytime for faster replies via email as I rarely come here.
