Just received my new toy today, my Flex 3401 VRG has made my dayIm the MAN
Can't wait to use it, its a nice addition to my PC7424xp and Makita rotary.
Sorry Rupes(Ro-pees) Bigfoot, I chose the Flex instead for personal preferences

Heres a pic with my Euro-shine 6" pad, perfect fit
*before I turned it on, I lubricated the felt ring with 3in1 oil

+2 since you use a rotary you should love the forced rotation.

Congrats..was the felt ring dry?

Thanks
The felt ring was dry, it was a "like new" used item online so I bought it for a discounted price. When I removed the backing plate, there was some wear on plate itself where the plate touches the felt ring. I removed the ring and it was dry so I soak it lil bit with 3in1 oil, I think I need to replace the felt ring and the possibly the plate itself later on.

If you do some research oiling the felt isn't recommended. Only a couple beta machines did that but after consulting with the manufacturer I believe they stopped recommending it.

I like the way that pad sits flush with your bp

Sent from my SCH-I605 using AG Online

They are Euro-shine pads which Pakshak Hawaii sells, almost similar to my Buff n shine pads:xyxthumbs:

The only dual action polisher I used for years was the Porter Cable 7424. It worked and continues to work we to this day. I have both the first and second generation Porter Cable 7424 polishers and enjoy using them both.

I believe I've had my Flex 3401 for 2 years now and the first time I switched it on I was amazed at how smooth and comfortable using it was.

The Flex 3401 is an incredible breakthrough in the next generation dual action polisher. It's forced rotation allow the user to vary the pressure without monitoring the pads rotation. Because of it's power and design, correction times are less and much faster, probably 30% to 40% faster than with the Porter Cable 7424...:props:

Congratulations and Enjoy!! :dblthumb2:

It's so nice to read guys giving love to the flex. Lately, with everyone sweating the rupes, you would've thought the 3401 was garbage. :)

i have them both and have never had a problem with any flex. done a couple hundred cars with a 3401. bulletproof. only got a rupes cause i am a tool #####. like it too for different reasons.

Just used my Flex on a 4Runner hood this morning and its easy to control, maybe i've got used to using my makita a lot that controlling this made it a breeze. Very smooth machine and less noisy too. Love it!
