Okay guys, for the past week, i have been working on this Mini Cooper with the Twilight Metallic Black Paint.

No matter what combo i use, there are still these things left on the paint.

I have tried these combos TODAY MORNING, i tried many many more this past few days.....

Lake Country Hybird White Pad with M105
Green Uber Pad with Sonax PF
Lake Country Black CCS with Menz 4500

What ON EARTH DO I NEED TO USE!??!?!
At this point im BEYOND FRUSTRATED.
I have been polishing this on and off for almost a week now

Those look like Holograms instilled by improper use of a rotary

I'm using a rupes 15....
Up close they just look likes bunch of scratches
Stacked together

Towel marks? What speed did you use?

Looks to be very soft paint!

Try PF with a black pad.

Yes I have Meguiar cutting and finishing MF pad

I'm using a towel called "Pluto"
So u guys think they are caused by a towel??
I didn't know that's possible....

Should I use a high gsm towel then?
Like cobra 530?

I was on speed 4-5

Slowwwwww the speed down! Try speed 2-3.

Yes, on soft paint, towels can definitely marr the paint!!

I'm always on speed 4-5 and never had a problem before...

Alright mark i will try again later the day, currently I'm bringing a family member to md Anderson.

What pad and polish do u suggest?

try the spf with your blk pad,3 pea size drops on speed 3 to 4.start there with what you got.

I thought you were going to say Dewalt or Makita. Yeah slow it down on your last passes. And slightly ease the pressure as your finishing up the area till your completely off. (Just don't make a mess)

Then make sure the towel is clean, and ease the pressure on the towels as well.

I always use a pad brush to clean the pad.
But the bristle seems a bit rough on the softer foam pads...

Mark what do u use to clean pad?

I blow out my pads with an air compressor.

Rub a MF towel over the face of the pad with the machine on. That works good, too.

Oh talking about air compressor, i need a new air blow gun.
Damn Harbor freight crap keeps breaking on me....
Need something the last and dont leak air 24/7

And i do try to rub a towel over the pad with the machine on, but it stops the machine rotating.... so i dont think that helps

I have a different opinion than some of the other guys. Those look like sever holograms. Those suckers look bad, and probably won't be removed by finishing steps, good technique, better towels, etc.

If it is what I suspect, you need to start over. Go with a slightly more aggressive pad like a lc orange and m105 with your rupes. Probably will need 4-5 good passes, 2 horizontally or 2 vertically. . .lightening up on the last pass.

You should have little to no holograms, even with 105, with good technique and a good machine like the rupes. If there are still severe holograms left after this step, the following steps may not remove them.

The problem may be the opposite of what some of the other guys mentioned. The paint may be hard. Aren't Mini's made by BMW? That would explain the difficulty in removing the severe holograms.

This is just a possibility as I can't be sure without seeing it up close.
