The aim of fusion research is to replicate the nuclear reaction through which energy is created on the sun. It is a “holy grail” of carbon-free power that scientists have been chasing since the 1950s. It is still at least a decade — maybe decades — away from commercial use, but the latest development is likely to be touted by the Biden administration as an affirmation of a massive investment by the government over the years.
... My favorite myth he debunked, I think, is the Yuca Mountain Storage Facility. Rumors were the US was just putting all of it's nuclear waste in a mountain to seal it up. False. The fact is that site was never commissioned and is never going to be used. It was another waste of tax dollars...

My good friend worked at San Onofre for over 30 years and had the most incredible stories. His name is Dan and everyone refers to him as RAD DAN (Radio Active Dan) One of the most interesting stories he told me was how UN-inefficient the bombs were, like the ones we dropped on HiROSHIMA. And I haven't thought about it until Putan was threatening (Tactical Nuclear War) And it immediately reminded me of what Dan had explained about the nuclear weapons then vs. now! He described it like 95% of the bomb we dropped was just radio active waste. And only 5% inefficient. And is why so many were effected from radio active poisoning. Compared to today's Nuclear warheads that are 99% efficient and a million times more powerful. So it made me think about when Putan was threatening Tactical nuclear war, he could launch a nuclear BB at Ukraine knowing there would be no nuclear waste/fallout. I know the majority of people just think nuclear war means the end of time as we know it. That's why he state "Tactical nuclear war"
