UTTG -vs ChemicalGuys G6

Looking forward to seeing updates of this test. I'm 99% sure the UTTG will be the winner, it's amazing stuff.

I've tested both over a couple months. UTTG definitely lasts longer. G6 is still a nice product, though.

Re: UTTG -vs ChemicalGuys G6 **Update**

**********************UPDATE*************************

This is going on over (2) weeks since I re-applied the G6 from Mark.I was washing down the vehicle I was testing the UTTG -vs- CG's G6,with CG's Citrus Wash/Griots Paint Prep.Getting ready to apply Opti-Guard to,when I noticed these results:

These are pictures taken after the first initial rinse, before foaming with Citrus Wash.
Remind you the UTTG is on the left and the G6 is on the right:

This is a vehicle that sit's outside 24/7 and has sat thru a few rain storms. I'm concluding the test over as clearly the G6 has run it's coarse.

Wow, that beading on UTTG is awesome!

Thanks for the post and followup, great comparison thread.

I've been doing some more testing with these products and UTTG clearly has better durability. My biggest complaint about UTTG is it can't darken some trim enough, hence, why I just ordered C4.

Do you think durability of UTTG would be compromised if the trim was darkened with 303AP first? I'm tempted to give it a go on a faded plastic garden chair that sits outside 24/7, treating half with 303AP and then coating the entire surface with UTTG.

I can't speak for 303AP but I will say that it is not affected by PlastX.

Hey Matt, I have no clue. Sorry.

Great review. Nice to see products tested head-to-head that will undergo the exact same conditions.

Question: Given UTTG beads water can you do a second coat or reapply before it is totally gone? Or do you have to wait until it is totally gone before you can reapply?

I would assume you can reapply. I don't think that there would be anything wrong in doing that.
