Venting - You may ignore this!

Don't worry about it man. If the job was that bad...you'll end up better off just detailing. Winter is going to be REALLY tough. SAVE SAVE SAVE!!!

I wish you the best of luck man. Keep your head up! :dblthumb2:

The best of luck to you, and here's hoping things work out well. I find myself in a similar situation with regards to my company - absolutely loved it when I joined, but 6 years on, I find that I am having to force myself to go to work. I don't have my own business to fall back on, though, so I need to get cracking and start sending out CVs.

Things like this make me glad that i work for myself. Hang in there and work on getting the detailing business up and running to a point where you can quit.

they are trying to get you out. thats it. not you .same all over.work for your self you will make less but sleep at night.

So did they make up some "story" so they could fire you? Good luck going full-time, you shouldn't have any problems.

Seajay, i'm just reading this thread now. Kind of funny considering our talk yesterday. haha. You're going to be fine dude. You sounded pretty relieved actually. I'm going to email my head hunter's info to you right...now. She's good and if anyone else needs her info hit me up with a pm. F*** Millapore!!!

They actually didn't even give me a reason. They pulled me into a room and said "we have decided to part ways". I kind of felt like I was being broken up with! lol.

I wasn't concerned about the reason honestly. I was relieved to not have to go back there anymore. Granted may make money tight for a little while, but I'm a hard worker and I'm willing to do what I need to, to make ends meet. I'm not the type to sit around all day and do nothing.

Today I have my gf's brakes on her Equinox to take care of, then I have a detail this afternoon.

Since being fired yesterday I have already booked 4 new appointments. 2 cars for Thursday, 1 for Friday, and a boat for next week. Not too bad considering I had only been fired for about 6 hours! lol.

Jason you are a good man, and with that you will get a lot of referrals, just get yourself out there and your business will build based on you and your work! Good luck!

Thanks Meghan. That's the plan!

There you go Jason, positive steps already! Glad to hear you have some jobs lined up!

Not sure of the business you were in (and doesn't really matter) if I were you, I would approach their competition about working for them as a part time consultant/outside sales team member. This way their not locked into having to hire a permanent employee.... Its the wave of the future

Jason -
I had not been keeping up with this thread and noticed new posts.

It sounds like you are a Free Agent now and from what I recall that in of itself is a good thing. You seem busy already and it's only been a few hours. Good guys are hard to keep down!!!

Best of Luck!!

Going through this life-change event had to have you at the end of your rope. We at AGO felt a tug.

I too pray for your success in your detailing venture, home sale, new job prospects if you so desire, love's continuation between you and your lady---but most of all: that you will have "that peaceful easy feeling" ~The Eagles, along with true happiness and a long and prosperous Life. :)

So far I'm good. Scheduled some more details and plan on hitting up some businesses in the next few days.

I'm already bored out of mind and it's been 1 day. Lol. Just shows how I am. I hate sitting still.

Did go to a local print place today to get my window decal done for my car. Going to cost me a little money but the guy does great work and he's going to let me put some brochures and cards in his shop.

Well it's been since Monday and all I can say is my luck has certainly turned around for some odd reason! lol. I'm not complaining.

Since being laid off I've booked a bunch of new appointments (I have appointments booked for every day next week!). Also my house went under agreement yesterday. We still have to pass inspection and the house has to appraise for the purchase price, but we have accepted an offer and this is all in the works.

I have 2 cars to do today. I turned the 66 Corvette Stingray that I was just doing a detail on last night into a full correction for next week. So, business is good. I still have a guy who owns a trucking company that wants me to detail the interiors of his 5 tri-axle trucks that I need to book, and a couple other small details. I haven't even had a chance to hit the streets yet, other than stopping at a few little shops to drop off brochures and business cards.

Things seem to be falling into place and it makes me a little nervous! But at the same time I am not complaining at all.

My clients for today just showed up so I'm off to detail. Enjoy your day!

Nothing but a series of great news events makes me nervous too. I just know the other shoe is bound to drop probally sooner, rather then later. Just be prepared when it does

I'm super happy to hear you've got a contract on the house and the next 10 days booked. When you get things adjusted, you will actually be able to take your weekends off if you choose too
