VERSUS PART 1: CG Diablo vs Sonax Full Effect

Thanks for the review. Nicely done.

I have chosen Wolfgang Über wheel cleaner as it is more attractively priced. That and I'm a nut for the iron bleeding effect.
How is the Wolfgang priced better? its 19.99 for 16oz Sonax is 15.99 for 16oz or the sale with Sonax 3 for 29.99 not at AG I see. So Uber cleaner is uber more expensive then both items tested in this review.

I take back my response. I must have been thinking of a different product. Indeed the Sonax version is a better buy.

I just figured it out per oz if purchased in gallon or 5 a liter jug.

Uber Wheel cleaner is $1.82 per oz

Full Effect Wheel cleaner is $1.70 per oz

Have you ever tried Meg's WB? My Audi's winter wheels went way too long without a wash this year. I thought the Opticoat would still make them easy to clean, but the brake dust was too much for it. None of my regular wheel cleaners would get all the brake dust particles out of the spoke corners. I finally ordered a gallon of WB, diluted it in a spray bottle and went to work. It really did the job, and is very cheap diluted. I obviously won't use it every wash, but it is great for those tough jobs.

I used CG Diablo today while doing my first wash of my new 4Runner. I mixed it 3:1 to distilled water and applied using the CG Duck foaming trigger.

At 3:1 I did not get a foaming action at all. This was my first time using this type of sprayer, so I guess it could be faulty. I will try diluting a little more next time.

Since my ride is only 2 weeks old, it brought up the brake dust just fine with some agitation. I will be hitting up my wife's SUV here soon with it and I know the wheels have only been cleaned a few times so it will be a better test for cleaning ability.

I too use Diablo at 3:1. However, Diablo as packaged is really a gel consistency. Even at 3:1 it is still pretty thick. The foaming trigger is not effective at introducing air to thick products. Just use a standard sprayer, let dwell for 3-5 minutes, agitate and rinse.

Thanks for the heads up. I saw one of their (CG) videos on YouTube where they used it with the foam sprayer and it foamed up some. After using it in the diluted gel form, not sure I really want it foamed up now.

Yeah... I saw that. I think in the video though it's diluted pretty thin. If you look at the bottle he's using, the Diablo is pretty light... Almost pink.

Just to add to this thread: I have used Diablo on our two vehicles now. One car with alloy wheels and my truck with black painted wheels. It is awesome. Smells great and lathers up really good when you agitate it with brushes. I should have taken some before and afters of the black wheels. I figured you couldn't really tell black wheels are all that dirty, but it is amazing how much cleaner they look after the Diablo was used.
