VX5000 - quick review, more to come

I was gonna say...those stains would have come out with an extractor, ha. Exactly why it's beneficial to have both. The steamer did a good number on them. You need that Mytee Lite back though!!!

I thought that too and think it may have helped but the guy said he had it detailed about a year ago and the guys charged more and didnt do half the job that I did...... kind of shocked me because some stains wouldnt budge. Either the guys before didnt do jack to the upholstery or these stains that were left behind were set in from years ago..... dont know - but this was definitely the first obstacle for the steamer.

It's amazing what some "detailers" tell their customers. A lot of people just say...yeah, that wouldn't come out. But they didn't even try!

Glad you like the steamer though. I'd like to get one of the higher up model steamers one day. Maybe once my cheap Mcculloch stops working, haha.

I seriously need a steamer in my life. If I could stop spending a couple hundered bucks a month at AG then I could probably afford one. That Griots Garage one seems very interesting.

I'm glad to see the VX5000 works so well. I've been looking at steamers for awhile & this is going to be my choice.

The GG steamer also looks good for the price. But I plan on using this for more than just cars & want the extra psi & temp.

Wow. that jeep you posted pics of last week was nasty. nicely done.

Did you use any hot water injection with the VX followed by shop vac? or was that all done strictly with steam / pre treating / diapering?

pretty impressed either way. my tax return went towards a VX that has just arrived. might post a few pics in this thread once I get acquainted

Hi guys...I ordered my VX5000 today. When I spoke with Steve the sales guy he said you can turn up the PSI way beyond the 65 on their webpage, has anyone here messed with this or is it worthless on this machine?

He estimates around 80psi I believe maybe more on the adjuster screw?

Yup post 1 :) Hi guys!

Where did you get yours and how much did you pay?!??! My VX had no sales tax or shipping?!?!!? Weird.

Hey Anthony how you like that vacuum in you pic? I think I'm going to buy one tomorrow...I just don't like the 80 price tag lol

vapor clean..I was pissed like 8% sales tax. you have to pay if you buy from a company in your state. when I was living in fl I had to pay sales tax with auto geek. if I mailed it to Illinois 5 miles from me I wouldn't have paid the sales tax

695 + tax

AWESOME! I have had that vac for over 6 years now..... it is very powerful and fits inside of cars/rvs/aircraft isles/etc very easily. I think I spent more than 80 back in the day.... and didnt even know they made them anymore - I will buy another one if I find one! Got mine in Cali back in the day.

I turned mine up to 5.5 bars already. It will clean the snot out of an engine bay now...lol

I also talk with him/steve and followed his instructions.

Sweet! I will see how it does stock first and play with it from there. I have a flood damaged company car this week. Supposedly no noticeable damage, but a pungent smell has kept employees from driving it.

We will see?

TN flood?!?!?

So does this steamer not only help with interior cleaining, but replace the need for an extractor?

Also, can you buy a brand new car with new carpets, take pictures every day and when a year comes around clean them with the steamer? I just want to make sure it works. :P
