VX5000 - quick review, more to come

I have pulled some ridiculous stains out..... but for some reason - one of my guys is even better than I am at using the steamer. I always make that his job lol..... I can say the steamer pulls out ALOT of stains, but I will get an extractor as well soon to help with those deeper stains that have been set in for awhile.
 
That's one thing that I believe I need is an extractor or just a way to pull out stains. Besides carpet cleaning what other uses are there? I heard that someone doesn't need any chemical to clean the interior or even the glass?
 
Looks like the price went up $54 in the past few days.

Louisville KY, parking lot flood from big rain. Car was not as bad and discolored as I was expecting. Stains all over the place came out no problem except one really red spot that is now pink. The thing I am most happy with is how great it eliminated the lingering smell of water, dog, and and human stench! Blowing vapor through the vents is a huge plus with oder elimination. :p:xyxthumbs:

I got that vacuum the other day and it is nice but my other 2.5 horse I would say was fairly comparable....I think.

It was just $749 last week. Went from $695 to $749 to $795 in 2 weeks. :eek: Don't know if I should order one now. But if I wait will it be $850 by the end of the week?
 
I already think that they're pricing themselves out of the mid-range market; which is why I'm looking for "next tier" recommendations.
 
Check out the VS3000 at steamvaporclean.com It looks similar in specs and the price is $695 right now.
 
Is the 4000C considered a step up then? In the $500-$700, I would've gotten the VX-5000. At $800, I'd rather spend more money to "upgrade".

The 4000C is a continuous fill model, the VX-5000 is not. I'd choose a continuous fill if I had a lot of work to do so I didn't have to wait for it to reheat. If it was just for my own personal use and time didn't matter as much, then I'd go with the best price. The company selling the 4000C says their model 3000 is the same as the vx5000 (both are not continuous fill). There are still some lower prices out there on comparable machines depending on which website you're at.
 
This would be for personal use, but I tend to buy the best that I can afford (best mid-range?) in the hopes that I won't have to buy a replacement. The more uses for it that I can find, then the more "worth it" it'll be.

If your budget was $1000-$1200, what would you buy? A 4000C? A Daimer?
 
I had a tough time deciding which steam cleaner to buy, because the $700-$800 range is steep for me. I don't detail for a living or on the side, but maybe I should consider it with all the tools I've been buying lately. (Flex 3401 and now a VX5000) I decided to go with the VX5000 because it seems to have the best value for the price to me. I also talked to Steve, and from our conversations and the research I did on other steam cleaners, I bought what I hope to use for years to come, on my car and in the home. I bit the bullet, and I'm hoping for the best. You guys also had a lot to do with my choice.

Thanks. As always, you and the other folks on this forum give good advice that is borne out by the results I can see right away when I do my car; good advice on techniques and products. In addition, it's a lot of fun.
 
Hi! I am new to car detailing and to steam cleaners. But after a lot of research I ended up buying VX5000.
My question is: the pressure in boiler (in my case) does not go higher then 4bars when not operating, and when I turn the steam on to the highest setting it drops to 2 or even lower (the arrow almost touches the red line). Is it normal?

Is it enough pressure to steam clean car interior?
I tried it on my Nissan 1994 (it hasn't been cleaned for 7 years) and the seats and carpets do not look that great. It took me an hour to clean just passenger seat and carpet underneath and the stains are still there (I didn't use any cleaning products, just the steam)they just got lighter.

I am a little disappointed, since from reading comment on this blog about VX5000 I expected it to work better.

Doesn't sound normal. Where did you buy the steamer? I'm torn over the steamer vs extractor issue. The VX5000 has generally received good reviews. I'm reasearching contineous fill models however. Figure whats a few hundered more at this point.
