OK I know that I should be able to calm down by now, but!!!!!!!!!!!
Yesterday I was out having lunch with one of my girlfriends and she asks if I would ride with her to check out a Nissan Rogue. Sure I am free and should be interesting. So test drove the Rogue has NO power so decided to drive the Murano to see if that is what she would be interested in. She loved it so I said we would check around look at some other cars and of course was going to walk away. So when the sales manager said I will give you 6K for a truck that isnt worth a grand in parts you got my attention. I am haggling with the guy knowing my friend wasnt going to buy anything on impulse, I just wanted to see what was on the table. I get them down to a 2012 Murano SV, merlot color, 6 yr 70000 gold preferred warranty for 22K out the door at 0% financed with 500 down. I didn't think that was bad deal. I was getting up to walk out when to my surprise my friend said where is the paperwork and when can I pick up the truck. So once I picked my mouth up totally off of the floor, I specifically took a sheet of paper and put SOLD, DO NOT WASH/DETAIL/OR EVEN LOOK AT THIS ONE. I made sure to say if it is washed the deal is void so everyone including the guy going to pick it up from another dealership knew not to wash the truck.
I go today with the thought of doing a quick ONR wash and laying on a couple coats of Autoglym wax before my friend picked up the truck after work. I was planning on returning for Christmas to polish it and Opti Coat it. Well of COURSE they "detailed" it and was sitting out in the sun all swirled up, glass has some sort of haze on it from an obvious oily rag being used to wipe it down. I not so CALMLY walk into the sales manager office and was like what in the heck. He had the GALL to say "we didnt think that you were serious about not washing the truck and no "little lady" should worry about washing a new truck in the cold." OH MY. Needless to say that it took a few minutes for me to calm down, regroup, and remember that I am an educated lady because the hood in me was about to come out. Just happens that the salesman walked by at that point and I asked him what was the ONE thing I asked him not to do and he said wash the truck and then why is it sitting outside with dirty windows, swirls all in the paint, and NON dressed tires? For real dude? UUGGH.
I did take that opportunity to pull up my website to show my work and explain that I do take my business very seriously even in the cold. I stated that I was HIGHLY offended that just because of my gender you didnt take my request seriously and have NO plans to do business with them. I guess it was at that point they remembered that my friend had only signed the credit check papers and not the sales agreement. Needless to say all of a sudden it was what can we do. I just looked at them like they were crazy and walked out and left.
SO the quandry is my friend said they have called her at work to see what can they do to have her come sign the paperwork and pick up the truck. She really wants the truck and a couple of other dealerships said that they wouldn't match that offer, so what do I tell the dealership that I want that would make me happy when I really just want to tell them what part of my behind to kiss?
Thanks for letting me vent,
