Inspired by my request to see the sheeting method in 02blackouts thread http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...d-vid-review-menzerna-power-lock-sealant.html, I decided to make a video or two myself.

This is after washing with CG Wash and Clear in preparation for waxing. Water sheets off pretty slow IMO.

After that, the car got an IPA wipedown to ensure a clean surface. Proof that LSP-free paint beads about half way through.

If it's decent out tomorrow, I'll post a third video of sheeting with the coat of Auto Glym HD I applied yesterday. I would have first applied Klasse twins or WG DGPS 3.0 but I will be stripping the paint for a light polishing in the next week or so, no need. Hopefully there will be a noticeable difference in how fast the water sheets off the car in the coming video. :dblthumb2:

Maybe we should start a new thing, "Water Sheeting Races" :D

if you have never seen water sheet off an Autoglym HD finish, I think you will be amazed. I know I was..

Now I can't wait! I know it beads well...

So you actually applied it by hand? I used an applicator pad with no problems. It sheets water very nicely. I wonder how it will react with a layer of Menz Power Lock underneath?

LOL no, but I have wanted to try. I started with the included applicator but didn't make it far before switching to the Flex. It's just so much faster and easier to get that thin even coat. I applied way too much wax to the 6.5" blue LC pad and it got pretty saturated. The pic is my hand after rinsing and squeezing the applicator and pad in hot water before going into the Snappy clean bucket. I misted it with water to enhance the beading effect for the pic, when I saw my hand under running water I went straight for the camera. :D

Well as I'm getting ready to shoot the next sheeting video, I realized I can't find my camera! Ends up I left it in the schools theater I was working at last night. They found it, on the way to get it :bolt::bolt:

Nice hand but where's the car? Looking forward to your video.

+1 about machine application. I feel that I get a consistent, even application with the PC in less time.

I have 6.5" and 4" flat red pads for sealants. I waste less sealant with the 4" pad and it is easier to use by hand to get the last sections where the PC can't (under the mirrors, along trim edges, inside the door handles, inside the door jambs, under the roof racks, etc.).

If I bought 5.5" initially, that may have been all I needed!

Ok got my camera, let me know if you can tell a difference :D

I do the same thing, using the pad by hand to get in the tight areas. :dblthumb2:

Man, that's awesome! I just put Autoglym HD on my Jeep tonight. Now I want to run out and hit it with a hose! Great video!

Wow after that last video I really want to go out to my local "mart" and buy this stuff RIGHT NOW!

:xyxthumbs:

what do you think about your final results compared to other waxes you have used? I am currently trying to decide between my Pinn. Sig. Series II or go back to the AutoG HD. They seem to have the same depth, but it seems like the Sig Series wax makes the orange peel stand out more than the Autoglym. Maybe tommorow I will IPA the hood and do a 50/50 application and see which one last longer.

Do it! let us know how it performs for you.

I love my Fuzion and Souveran but this is great for between boutique wax "treats". The price is right!

Whoa!!!! Never seen that great of sheeting!! Awesome!!! :dblthumb2:

I know! Little OCD was right, amazing.

It's really tough to say about final appearance, it definitely has a more sealant look to it, but it's a nice mix. Fuzion is absolutely my favorite wax I've used so far. If you do the 50/50 test be sure to let us know the results, I'm curious about Sig. II! I don't have much too say about comparing sheeting with other waxes... for now. I'll have to run some tests :dblthumb2:

For reference, I applied in the garage to the whole car. Once it passed the swipe test I removed with a Cobra Supreme 530, short nap side then final wipe with the long nap side (love these towels). It was a little tough to remove, seems like it's been forever since I've felt the "gritty" feeling of removing a hazed wax, no problems though. Then the car stayed in the garage, untouched, for over 36 hours. Whether curing for so long made a difference I don't know, couldn't have hurt though.

Until today, I forgot about the small test spot I did on my Dad's Bimmer (everything get's guinea pigged on his cars :) ) The HD wax was applied 2/25/2010, so about a month old now. Not sure if he went through any automatic swirl machines since wax application, this was the first wash I know of. As you can tell, the paint on this car is naked and unpolished. Brrr she gets cold outside :p

One month durability, 3-4 two bucket method washes since waxing with DP Auto Bath + 1 cap full ONR and LC Blue Grout Sponges. I was just intending to blast off the pollen before an ONR wash, couldn't help but to update this thread. I'm very happy with this wax. If this wax ever wears off I'll do some comparisons with other LSP's.
