Wax For Silver?

But I'd urge you to try Collinite 845 before anything else. It's really cheap and gives excellent protection for cars parked outside 24/7.

This would be my vote. It looks great, lasts forever, and is really easy to apply. You can't go wrong.

If your silver Jetta is anything like my black GTI, the paint will be very hard. However, I found Blackfire SRC compound and polish (a.k.a. Duo) with Lake Country flat pads teamed up on my HF DA polisher makes short order of any swirls I might build up.

My car is a VW Jetta.

I'm open to either over the counter or online. I just have an arbitrary ceiling on how much to spend.

Regarding BFWD, does it need to be layered or does a wax need to be used in conjunction?

And no love for Meguiar's NXT 2.0?

Thanks for all the input, everyone.

This is a great value and a great 1-2 combo, will look awesome on silver:

BLACKFIRE Wet-Ice Over Fire Combo

I used blackfire midnightsun on my silver V until I get around to polishing and coating it. I've used nxt in the past. The BF seemed to make the metallic more pronounced.

BFMS (keep in mind that this is unpolished)

Pinnacle Signature Series is amazing on light colors.

Well, I couldn't make up my mind on a single product based off everyone's generous recommendations. So I ordered both Blackfire Wet Diamond and Collinite 845.

Thanks to everyone for their input. Sounds like I should be set on was/sealant for a while.

yep.. that should keep you busy for a few months... until you get the inevitable urge to try something new! :D

Let us know what you think once you get it on!

I've used Megs UWL for the past few years on my silver metallic and while I mainly use it for its ease of application and removal I too have wondered what else out there might give it more pop.

What about the popular Collinite 845 for more gloss?

Super recommendation! ^^^^

I don't believe you're going to see enough of a difference with some of those very high priced waxes.... Collinite will do what you want...... or stay where you are....
