Wax or sealant for a new car?

I've heard that new paint needs to cure for a couple of months, and should not be waxed or sealed, and I've heard that wax is ok, but sealant is not. I was going to use sealant on someone elses new car, but perhaps I shouls use wax instead. I was going to use either Griot's sealant, WDGPS, or Collinite 915.
 
With new cars the paint is baked and already completely cured.....before it is even assembled!

It is silver. A light silver, not a dark silver.
I get the impression that he mainly wants protection, and not necessarily the best looks, but I'm sure he wants it to look great. He asked for wax, but then he never heard of sealant before. I have a diverse palette of waxes I could use, including Natty's Red, which I think would really make it pop, but I know he would prefer more durability.

I'd clay it, then use WGDGPS. It's very user friendly and provides good durability. Any quality wax would suffice as well.
I usually use Griot's clay, which is a medium to fine grade, but I also have Pinnacle Ultra Poly clay, which I haven't used yet. Honestly, I cant see any contamination, but the car is dirty, so I can't do the plastic bag test yet. Which clay do you believe(or anyone else) to be the better clay to use here? The Griot's does leave behind very very subtle marring or dullness, and so I usually polish a bit before waxing. In this case, I was even considering giving the car a light buff with the Flex and a gold jeweling pad, to bring up the highest shine. I would do one panel and if there is a difference, do the whole car. If not, I'd stop there. I agree on the WGDGPS.

Good plan. Do a test spot with boths clays, and see which one gets the job done better. What kind of polish would you use with the gold pad?

I would probably use System One, which is a very fine non diminishing abrasive, water based.

Yes, it is. I have gotten very good results with it though, on the Flex, however, I think that a coarser polish would cut better. It seems to take forever to take out sanding scratches with it. with the orange pad. That has nothing to do with using it for this, however. I believe it was designed primarily for the rotary.

I wonder if using system one with a black pad would be finer polish than using M205 with a black pad? Do you have any idea?

True! They cannot assemble then bake the entire car, otherwise the plastic and rubber components would melt.
 
Clay with Pinnacle (mild), polish with 85rd and lsp with Collinite 845, done. Good for 4-5 months.

All non-diminishing abrasives are pad dependent. If your saying you have to use the System One pads with System One X3, then no you don't. You can use any pads you feel like.
 
all products have weaknesses and benefits ... guage what you desire in looks and durability, no wrong choice.

I have a new Toyota also(Tundra Crewmax) and I clayed the truck, then applied Poorboys Professional Polish. Then sealed it off nicely with Wolfgang DGPS topped with Collinite 845. My truck is the same color as the Prius.
