I have a black corolla and I've used meguiars products for years and used nxt gen paste wax for about 3 years is it a good wax for black vehicles or is there another product and or company that's better? And last longer?

Meguiars makes good stuff off the shelf. If you want to step up to something a little better, IMO, I'd try Blackfire products. Check them out, I use them on my black escalade and love it!

Meguiar's has their new ultimate line of waxes that you can try out which I enjoy to use. But at the end of the day, waxes seem to be more of a flavor of the moment deal, and you can try a numerous amount of lsp's and be satisfied by many. I purchase and use many like m26, nxt, ultimate, p21s, pinnacle, Wolfgang, collinite, even turtle wax Ice, and they all do something I'm satisfied with and I cycle through each regularly.

How much durability are you lookinsg for?

Well with nxt generation it doesn't seem to last more than 2-3 months if that or is that average? Also should I use anything to remove any previous wax before I reapply?

Ultimate wax should last longer than the NXT. An treatment of Ultimate Polish will remove the NXT, and light imperfections in the finish.

Never Tried Ultimate Wax But liked NXT liquid Wax always looked good and had avg durability. Was really easy on and off about as easy as it gets. Then I used Ultimate quick wax spray in between and always looked good. Now I use Hydro2 the most just so easy and fast to do that I only Machine wax when I am bored which isn't often.

Does the ultimate wax make it look as good if not better than nxt generation paste wax? Also would I need to any other steps other than ultimate polish then wax? Such as ultimate polish, paint sealant then wax?

Sorry just realized I'm using ultimate wax now still same question as above just replace nxt generation paste wax with ultimate paste wax

If you want to break from Meguiars and try something new, take a look at Collinite 845. I use it on my black car with great results. Durability for one coat is around 6 months.

There are a whole host of economic options sold here if you are willing to branch out and try different things.

The prices aren't really the problem for the most part it's the price with shipping then if I like it have to wait a week or two to get more be nice if they had a local retail store to buy stuff.

Meguiar's Ultimate Wax is a 100% synthetic---a Sealant.

Do I need to do anything extra before hand or afterwards? I normally just wash my car and dry it then use meguiars ultimate wax let dry and buff it off with microfiber towels

It took me a while to jump on the colinite band wagon because im a type of person that when every one is going left i go right. But im so glad i did. I was very skeptical so when i put it on my black truck i was very critical and had my expectations very low. However, it has hands down the best wax ive ever used. The gloss was unrivaled and that was enough to make me sold on the product and buy it again. What i was the most impressed with was how long it held up. It beaded water 4 months after its first application just like it did its first wash after its application. It is now my go to wax.

Over the counter though my vote goes to megs 26 and the blue bottle of zymol.

I suggest have a sealant base with blackfire or wolfgang and then topup with a natural wax like dodo juice purple haze or dp max wax.

I can't afford the high end stuff that's why I've used meguiars pretty reasonable in price and works good also.

What ever route you go, I advise to make sure your new choice for wax won't attract dust like a magnet. I can attest for Collinite 915 not attracting dust. Also p21s,, the less pricier version works well too. The p21s is a lot easier to remove than the collinite and the megs you are using now. Did you receive my pm? I can't attest for dodo; I have not tried though. I'm tempted because of the sale however.

Yes I got it the meguiars ultimate wax I've been using is still cheaper and I can pick it up before I get off work in the mornings. I wouldn't mind trying different products if I could buy them locally and save the shipping costs and waiting for them to come in.

Do I need to use paint sealant and or ultimate polish with ultimate paste wax?
