There are any to choose from. All are personal preferences. There are many waxes under those labels. A little information will assist in answering your questions

can of worms.

It's up to what you are looking for in a wax. Show car wax, DD wax, Color enhancing wax.
Basically it comes down to your concours show car waxes that look great but offer short durability. So your waxing once a month if not more often.
Longer durability waxes might give you more then a month because they have polymers or resins in them.
Also the types of wax will effect durability, examples nuba melts at 180 degrees and montan wax melts at a little over 200 degrees. So imagine how fast they melt on a hot summer day with your car sitting in the sun.
Reputable brands for looks IMO: Dodo, Wolfgang Fuzion, Bouncer's ( also durable) Chemical Guys, Black Fire and I'm sure others can add.
Durability: Bouncer's, Collinite, Finish Kare off the top of my head.
If you want durability the best is to go with a sealant.

Never trust a Wipe On Wipe Off (WOWO) LSP-product!!

(Diverse drilling-down-deeper to follow.)

Isn't OCW a WOWO?
{But (just to be snarky) wouldn't OCW be called an SOWO? :D}

However...I believe I do understand your point.
Let me try to clarify mine.

FWIW...
•I apply every LSP by this technique:
-"working it as deep into the paint as possible. Never knew of any other way". ~Tuscarora Dave

•So if I were to wipe (or spray) an LSP on a section of a vehicle's surface... and then (literally) immediately wipe it off:
-I don't see where this method would leave behind anything of real substance on/into the paint---anything left behind to actually protect...as in a "sacrificial barrier" protects!!

•Also...As it pertains to WOWO...I believe the following should be taken into consideration:
-Many people do use a polisher to apply LSPs.
-There's usually an amount of "wait time" before any wipe off (WO) occurs.
-Yes...I've used DAs to apply OCW.

•Note:
-I'll consider this posting as part of the "drilling down deeper" into WOWO.

I agree with Bob.

Zymol Creame/Carbon are considered to be kind of an immediate wipe off product, but I get better results letting it sit for a few minutes before wipe off. My neighbor's Mustang I wowo'd it, and it degraded in a couple of weeks. My girl's GMC Canyon, I let it sit, and since mid june, it still beads nicely.

Also, what waxes is the op comparing, specifically? Souveran and Gold Class? Signature Series 2, and M26?
