WD40 Uses...

This thread reminds me of that video where the guy "literally" used spit shine for his tires" lol (he was chewing tobacco, or something) lol

I guess I missed that one (thankfully). But now you have reminded me of the one where the guy dressed his tires with used motor oil.

When I owned a school bus company one of my drivers (from out of town) mentioned that she was helping her husband with their truck. They had been using WD40. She had arthritis quite bad in her hands and noticed (once back in the house) that the pain had completely disappeared. At that time I used to weight train on a regular basis. My wrist was bothering me so much that training or even lifting my young daughter brought on severe pain. I decided to give WD40 a try. I would spray my wrist, wipe the excess off, wait 10 minutes, and the pain was gone. I would be able to train pain free and the pain would not return for at least 2 hours.
One morning I happened to mention my finding to my local drivers. Of course this met with laughter. One of my drivers that was in her mid 60`s said that she would like to try it. We went into the garage section and I sprayed one of her figures. A short time later she commented that before the spraying, her finger had been throbbing with pain. She did not know if it was in her head, but she was completely pain free. She continued to use it for years.
Sorry to get long winded.
Mike

I wonder if WD has something like "DSMO" (or some variation of those letters) in it?

About 30-40 years ago it seems that "DSMO (DMSO?) was gonna be the magic cure all. Stuff was everywhere! Even the local 7-11s was selling it. Then just as fast as it appeared, it disappeared.

My favorite one is....
• Removes greasy fingerprints from car interior

That would be a great smell left behind!

" hey what's that smell?" New car?
" no it's wd-40" lol

I'm not the one who uses WD40 for auto detailing and i agree with your statement that it's the wrong product. That's the most relevant thing i could think of for WD40 in auto detailing. As a matter of fact i use it regularly for my road bicycle to clean the chain, derailer, cassette, and any random grease. But in my opinion it does not belong in an auto detailers arsenal.

OUCH! dont use WD40 on your chain or to clean use proper bike lube (wet or dry) depending on your location
