Weekend Morning THERAPY....

I usually have start any detailing by 7:30am if outside in order to finish before the sun comes up over the trees around 9am then forget it.

Yep, I look forward to getting up Saturday AM and begin the cleaning process. Have the tunes going and getting down to business - It is my relaxation for me. BUT...

You know what is better???

Waking up Sunday AM and cleaning my wife's ride!!!! :)

That's a good point. I also find myself detailing (sometimes) in the late hours of the night. However, if I do, I only limit it to application of LSP's, or worse case, ONR washing. I am too worried about the lack of natural sunlight to inform me of the paint condition during washing. I worry about marring or scratching my paint inadvertently without me knowing.

That's also a good point. Sometimes I forget to set my alarm for the morning, but I still find myself waking up naturally all amped up and ready to detail :) The joys of summer sun. Here in Iowa, I only get to enjoy this for a few months. As fall approaches, I am forced to detail much later in the morning than I want to... I want to get all my detailing done early, so I have the rest of the day to enjoy with the family.

Thats a very good point, I try and be really careful with it, but there is always that chance. Hopefully, the car has stayed pretty clean through the day and I can just quick detail. By the way awesome stang.

We've got three 5.0's in this thread!! :D

CR Spotless is your best friend.

Thank you. I'm beginning to think I have a problem as I am applying a coat of Blacklight and V7 every week (I'll blame you for that). If it rains I take my fiance car instead as I don't want to take my car out and undo all my good work.

But then you never get to see the water bead! That's my favorite part...

I'm 68 year old and getting up early and working on my car is one of the things in life that's so relaxing to me, I send hours just cleaning and waxing and enjoying being in the garage.

I totally agree with this thread! My wife always rolls her eyes when she sees me setting my alarm Friday night!

Im terrible at waking up early. Its usually 9-10am for me.

But I am taking a summer class that starts at 730. So I am going to be waking up at 630 every morning to make it a habit. May as well wash early before it gets hot.

Same. Once the sun comes up over the horizon, then over the side of our house, I hurry and hurry and hurry and finish drying inside the garage. Sun = big no no.

Good point. Although, your wife's ride is prolly not a BLACK MINIVAN, like mine is. For some reason, detailing that beast is not one of my favorite things to do. LOL. I'd rather spend the time on Marily or Tori.

Thanks excalibur. Yeah, I am just always paranoid... so I have to remember to scrub the mitt on the grit guard like 10 times, in each bucket, then remember to be very very very light when washing. Just letting the weight of the mitt be enough, then just drag it across the paint surface.

Nothing wrong with that. I told my wife I'd be doing this when I retired... just more of it. :)

SAME! She thinks of the weekend as a time to sleep in. I think of it as a time to get more stuff done!!! :) esp in the GARAGE.
