Been listening to Gregg Rollie era Journey on Spotify, although 2 albums with Steve Perry are in there, its bearable I guess. For those out there who didn't know, Steve Perry was NOT their original lead singer, it was Gregg Rollie, the voice of Santana from 1968 to 1972-ish.

Discover something different from Journey instead of "Don't stop believen" or "Lights", well worth your time if you like great musicianship.

Little Feat Live at Ultrasonic Studios [WLIR] on 1974-09-19

This recording is arguably one of THE best UNRELEASED albums of all time. At the time Little Feat was with Ultrasonic Studios, had recorded the album, then got into contract disputes. The album ended up going by the wayside. This recording is known by Feat affectionados as "Electrif Lycanthrope" and was released as a 'bootleg' in the UK, albeit still officially unreleased to this day.

There are actually two recordings floating around out there. One is direct from the tapes, tracks 1~9. The second one, (which is included the last three tracks, 10~12) those tracks were recorded off the FM broadcast.

Tracks 1-9 Source: PRE-FM (Master 1/2 Track Broadcast RR) >
Mastering (Custom Analog & Digital 10/04) > WAV
Tracks 10-12 Source: FM rebroadcast on WLIR > reel > reel >
m-audio transit > cool edit > cd wave editor

Without a doubt, Little Feat is the best boogie band of all time. Their following is both young and old, and I've never been to a Feat show where they didn't encourage you to record if you wanted. Heck, they even have an annual Bahamas cruise for the REALLY crazed Feat fans! ;)

I do miss those days, the 70's and 80's when you'd get live performances via worldwide broadcasts like Westwood One, some of which would be simulcast on MTV. I have somewhere a recording on cassette of the Roger Waters performance of The Wall (live from Berlin) July 1990 with DBX encoding, and at the same time a recording of the live video broadcast made on S-VHS (from MTV) with the audio track being provided by FM. I saw the show, even have a black denim jacket from it, that has become quite the collectors item! :D

Some neat reading here on the bootleg recording, as well as that era as a whole.
