Glad someone got their heads out of their ass at the Rock and Roll HOF and put them in, I mean LL Cool J deserves to be in there before them and all.....(tongue in cheek, ofcoarse)

Yeah it's a shame. Most critics only dislike Rush due to Lee's high pitched vocals, and due to the fact that the huge songs that Rush are known for aren't suitable for radio play.
I personally love Dio, Maiden and Rush's vocals and tenor range. Can't forget both Rush and Maiden have extremely gifted bassists as well. If you watch the ceremony I believe it was Niel Peart who said in so many words that the R&R Hall of Fame could go **** themselves. IMHO Anyone who fails to understand the musical genius of Rush is missing out. I get lost in the music everyday on my way to work.

Not sure how the radio is by you but Rush is a classic rock staple in Detroit and Chicago, infact I turn off the "burned out" songs from Rush because I've heard them a bazillion times (Tom Sawyer, Limelight, Spirit of the Radio for instance), great songs and those 3 alone are worthy of the HOF. Come to think of it, Deep Purple isn't even in.....REALLY, SMOKE ON THE WATER AND ITS RIFF ALONE GET THEM IN IF THEY HAD NEVER DONE ANYTHING ELSE!!!

I always turn some Trance / Euro Pop tunes in the garage when I detail. Also classic rock, 98.5 KFOX in the Bay Area part of California. I got a couple of new CD's which have been out for a couple of years now. Artist named Haley - All This Love album Haley- This is how it goes (official version) - YouTube and also Swedish star Petra Marklund aka, September - Love CPR album September-Resuscitate Me (Official Video) - YouTube. The first album is kind of like House music with beautiful vocals by Haley. The September CD is Euro Pop at its finest. I've got probably close to a hundred CD's right now. I also listen to Thai music from Thailand as that's where my family is from and I understand the language. No rap for me, too much negativity in the lyrics and how the artists represent themselves.

They (Zepp) came up with the song because they are the greatest rock band ever and that's what they do, about the best way I can answer it.

It's actually amazing how some of the greatest bands ever came from this time frame and from England. Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Stones, (hate me all you want but the Beatles suck) these bands are incredible in their ability to write not only great songs but great songs outside their genre (with maybe the exception of Sabbath who just kicked ass over and over again).
These bands are geniuses of music. Most bands, especially today are lucky if they can come up with one or two good songs. These bands came up with album after album of good songs. Don't know how they did it. Maybe good drugs back then or there has been the rumor of a few soul selling deals.

Sorry but I can't stand Rush. I know all about how technically great they are and how talented you have to be to play their off timing, but that doesn't make it good. I have a lot of friends who are musicians and argue this all the time. I agree that Dio and Maiden rock though and they never sang about troubled forests and trees (so not rock).

I wouldn't say the Beatles suck because the body of work speaks for itself and I'm no fan of them. They don't have the swagga of the Stones, the musicianship and variety of Zeppelin or explosiveness of the Who. They remind me of the "boy bands" of the 90's except they played their instruments and wrote their own songs but similar in the aspect of Mom's and Dad's liking them for being "safe" for their kids to get into (sans Sgt. Peppers, LOL)
Today's music sucks, one or two hits but no real rock and roll anymore, I feel the 1st Velvet Revolver release was the last kick ass rock and roll album I've heard, not to say they isn't more after that but when I got that cd it stayed in my player for about 2 wks!
Good rock and roll....where art thou, as well as Metal you can somewhat understand, come back.....PLEASE!

You're right about metal. I grew up listening to real metal with the likes of Metallica (Black album and prior please), Maiden, Dio, etc. Even later ones like White Zombie, Tool, and Rage all rocked.
Today's metal is laughable. Everyone is trying to sound like Cookie Monster on steroids and it sounds like a bad joke to me. You are NOT hardcore just because you sound constipated! There are no riffs or hooks anymore. Just play your instruments as fast as possible.
Good call on the Who and suck might be a llittle harsh for the Beatles but damn I just shake my head sadly every time I hear Yellow Submarine.

Tin I think we may have been seperated at birth, LOL! I like your comparison of Cookie Monster, I call it "dog barking", LOL! I think the last new metal band I really liked was Godsmack, love the album with the girl on the front cover, top to bottom kicks your ass AND you can understand them!
As far as metal goes, Black Sabbath's first 5 releases are untouchable IMO, kinda like Zepp but for them it was their first 6 though, after that they lost their ways due to different as well as similar reasons, funny how that works itself out. I love bands that have bodies of work and musicianship to go along with it, Priest, Maiden, Dio, Crue and solo Ozzy all fit the bill!

Wow, I just watched a YouTube vid. Bands like this remind me of dungeouns and dragons nerds. I don't know what they are trying to sound like. I guess evil maybe, but if that's evil then Evil = Pu$$y.
I still can't help but sing CEEEE IS FOR COOOOKIEEEE when I here this stuff.
It gets worse too, listen to some good old Cannibal Corpse. They're an insult to my dog's barking ability.
So you're some chubby guy with a mohawk and scabies? Just kidding. It wasn't bad it was like punkabilly and had a decent groove. Plus I think we can all relate to some chick, albeit not one in a nun-outfit (why?), putting a curse on us. You're alright in my book. :xyxthumbs:
