Heard about this today, he lived in Chicago apparently. Stepped in for David Ruffin when he was having LSD...Lead Singer Disease and did a great job!

His performance of Machine Gun at the Isle of Wight was incredible. Possibly the greatest guitar performance ever (Even for Hendrix).

I would like to offer up the version of "Machine Gun" from the original Band of Gypsy's release, around the 4 minute mark and he carries that note, chilling!
