What are you listening to...?

Back in 1996 guitarist Dean DeLeo, bassist Robert DeLeo, and drummer Erik Kretz of Stone Temple Pilots joined former Ten Inch Men vocalist Dave Coutts, and formed Talk Show.

The album was released in September of 1997, and would be the only album from the band, as Dave left in 1998.

Growing up through the grunge era left a lot to be desired from vocalists. I had enjoyed the great hair metal vocalists of the 80 when I was a kid. Dave sort of came out with a good singing tone, and was described by critics as a blend of John Lennon and Freddie Mercury. To this day he is one of my favorite singers.

I made a fb fan page for him, and he actually contacted me to say thanks, and share a new song he just recorded.

Upon his request, I mashed old Ten Inch Men video footage to the song, and posted it to my personal page.

Today I worked on a monster: Hino 258 see it here: Facebook

Took 8 hours to do the detail, and I listened to music the whole time ;)

Earlier this week I discovered that Debbie Gibson was still making music. I was a big fan of her first 2 albums then never heard from her again. So all these years I thought she had retired. Turns out she has 9 albums for for some reason no promotion was ever done in Canada that I know of. I don't listen to radio so maybe there was some, not sure.

Anyway, I have been obsessed all week, listening to her non-stop... some pretty great music on some of her albums. Good variety too between upbeat and balads so for detailing I think it's great ;)

My favorite song so far: YouTube but that's not saying much considering the number of songs I love on those albums ;)

Don't feel bad about Debbie Gibson, they didn't promote her in the U.S, either.I didn't even know she had 2 albums.
For the most part I listen to either thrash metal,80's rock or country and bluegrass.I'll listen to anything as long as it has a good beat or flow,,even rap but I have had to thumbsdown a lot of artist I like on Pandora because of language issues and customers milling around my work area.
I don't mind F bombs but prefer customers don't hear it,,,btw my mood is weird toda y and I'm listening to Bobby Darin "Mack the Knife" right now,,,Im the MAN

Sirius/XM channel 3 is playing every Billboard number 1 song from 1958 until today. This morning they were up to 1985/1986. It brought a tear to my eye for it reminded me of when I was first married, bought my first house and purchased my first new car (1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cruiser).

I am watching it right now Paulie. Thursday night's game was even better. For an Islander I was thinking you might be a Mets fan.

Then you must be Italian. All the Italians are Yankees fans. I was raised in New Jersey by my grandma who was an old NY Giants fan. She became a Mets fan in 1962 and our house was a Mets house. I remember the 1969 World Series as a 6 year old.
