What Camera do you use (and do you like it)!

Any SLR will be better than a Point and Shoot.

With that being said. I picked up a Nikon D3100 a couple weeks ago and I'm in love with it. The user interface is very easy to navigate:

Still trying to grasp all of the controls and really learning ISO, Shutter...etc

MP mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. that is the LAST quality of a camera I go by..unless its like 1 or 2..but you go past anything 6mp and higher unless you want to make some real big prints then it doesnt matter..other much more important things are to be taken..ISO noise, AF speeds, burst rates, overall IQ, buffer sizes..The WORST DSLR is going to be WAY better then any point n shoot camera.
If you want a DSLR for a good price..find yourself any broken canon camera off ebay or cragslist for dirt cheap then buy off the Canon loyalty Program

Ok for some retarded reason I keep getting an internal server error trying to post all the info about the Loyalty program

Am I reading this right? With the CLP, I can trade in a broken P&S for a Dslr for a 20%

No. You won't find them for that low.

If you can still find Nikon D40s used..you can maybe pick them up for high 300s low 400s

Anyone know anything about the Canon T3? I was just at Best Buy and they said its the newer version of XS.

you know out of all the threads ive started...this is the one that has the most views and posts lol..almost 2,700 views...and 7 pages of posts...funny thing...im still using the same camera cause ive been putting most my money into my other supplies! But ive worked on my picture taking technique and it helps a ton

funny thing is..rather than get really CLOSE to the surface for swirl shots...if i ZOOM in from a little further away it takes much better pics and focuses much better on them :)

That is why it is very important to know the minimum focusing distance of the equipment you are using... :props:

Had a D40 for 3 years, just upgraded last year to a new D90. Worth EVERY penny.

If I'm shooting something that moves I use this:

And, If something does not move, or if it's a landscape image I use this (large format film):

Is that a couple D300s cameras? What glass do you have in that big bag?

its a faster lens..meaning it lets in more light for faster shutter speeds and the 1.4 will give you a tad but more shallow of a depth of field. Neither of them are really for close shots. the 1.4 also has a nicer Bokeh(out of focus areas) then the 1.8.

Yes, D300 with battery grip

As for the stuff in the bag:

18~70 Zoom
12~24 Zoom
70~200 F2.8 Zoom
300mm F4
200~400 F4 Zoom (the big lens in the middle)
50mm F1.8
1.4x Teleconverter
Macro Extension Rings
Nikon SB600 Flash

And a bunch of other stuff! I have a full range of options from 12mm super wide angle to 560mm Telephoto
