What car should I get?

I'd suggest a rotary RX-8, but I'm biased. If you're a person that loves to drive and interact with the car, there's nothing like the high revving rotary.

On a sensible side, try out the Mazdaspeed 3. One of the quickest in the bunch and gives you Mazdas unique feel of the road.

Since I posted this topic I have been debating about an RX-8 whenever I see them on the road. Its one of those cars I know nothing about. I've heard really mixed opinions about rotary engines

How about Subaru BRZ? Base price is around 25k. Really liking the concept of the car and should be released this year.

I would suggest a Honda, but they need to step up their game.

How about a used TSX.

My 2002 VW Jetta has 160K still running fantastic..

The 2012 are under 20K

REALLY?!?!?! Why do you say that? I LOVE Honda's...had 2 Accord EX's and this Acura TSX. Never had problems with them. My ONLY gripe is the thin paint.

:whs: :iagree::dblthumb2:Im the MAN:TSXshuffle:

I don't like how the newer Accord sedan rear looks. I know Honda is really reliable but their design department needs to wow people. The Accord is due for an upgrade soon and hope they change things up.

Before buying the TSX, I wanted 2005 Accord but was very hard to find one at good price. Really liked that year model, so sleek.

yeah I see what you're saying. Both Acura and Honda's are starting to lack in the wow factor with the body style, but they're some of the best cars on the road. The newer TL's are not appealing to me anymore.

out of the choices listed, the SI. otherwise i would get a Hyundai Genesis Coupe. even though you are opposed to purchasing one, go test drive one for the hell of it...

Yeah, most Honda/Acura models are long due to change soon. Finger cross!

i don't like the way the bottom end of the trunk looks... :(

Very aggressive :xyxthumbs: , I always liked the Accords coupe. If they tone down a little of the front rear bumper, great looking car.

It's really NOT the mystery that everyone makes it out to be. The engine itself is very simple, much more so than a piston engine. Major things to remember... check your engine oil regularly, it is designed to burn a little. And use the rev range religiously, driving a rotary like a granny creates carbon build-up.

If you ever drive one, the balance and handling of the car is like no other. You just may be hooked. It's not a straight line race car, torque is the one short coming. But a curvey mountain road is your heaven!

I agree. I almost bought one a few years ago (I think it was 2010ish time frame). I did not because there were talks of Mazda making a DISI version of the rotary and it would have a ton more power. That annoyed me and discouraged me from wanting to get one before they made the leap to direct injection. Not sure if they have yet or not, however I am no longer in the market for a newer car.

I love those cars, they handle curves like no ones business and feel like grip is endless. I think for the money it is really hard to beat a Mazda for the "fun to drive factor" period. I had a 07 speed3 that to this day I still miss, fastest car I ever owned to date. My 6000lb truck being second and 07 civic si 3rd lol.

If you're looking for a daily driver - look at the civic imo. I recently test drove a new 2012 Honda Accord and thought that it handled like crap and the ride wasn't very nice. My wife and I ended up getting a 2012 Camry XLE and the damn thing drives like a Cadillac, seriously!

If not a daily driver - get the 370Z imo. I test drove one before I bought my C6 Z06 and it was definitely a sweet ride.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZYeah, I really do like my car.

Civic Si for sure! The Scion tC is a pretty nice ride for sure but the Corolla, well, not much of an enthuisist's ride IMO (yes, I know anything can be modded) and as far as a used 350Z, well, I see your in NY and I wouldn't wanna drive that in the snow, plus there's really no warranty on it. The new Si with its new engine addresses the torque issue, so driving around town is alot better.

Good luck with whatever you chose:xyxthumbs:

I am the proud owner of a new TL. You will not find a better value for a near luxury car. You would need to spend some serious money if you want Ferrari like styling for a sedan.
