What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Thinking of Ron today. I gave my baby a bath and topped it with High Gloss and Gold Zirkon like Ron told me how he used to top his Vette! He didn't lie, it definitely makes the paint pop!

Hope you are up there enjoying your white Vette Ron!

I think you'll love the G9. I know mine is a dream to use.

Let us know how the Complete Compound works. Have you used their Fast Correcting Cream? That stuff is magic in a bottle, IMO.

Are you talking about the Synthetic Clay disc? If so, it works very well. One thing I have found with this product (vs. regular clay) is that you need to use PLENTY of lube, and use a lighter touch with a few more passes.

I will also add some of the lube to the rinse bucket. Does this really help? I'm not sure, but it makes me feel better somehow......... ;)

its the hand grip synthetic clay. I ordered a gallon of Meguiars final touch that ill probably use with it. if i use too much, i might switch over to using the wolfgange rinseless wash as clay lube since a bottle of that makes 16 gallons.

I remember that 1 particular wash when Ron started with a black car and washed the color right off of it and it turned white!

RIP RON

I ordered some new shoes for the ES which will be coated once I get some miles/cleanings on them. I went with Continental DWS06 Plus, went up to a 235/40/18. I'm going to do ONE tire with Optimum tire coating and see what happens. Others have good luck and I haven't, so we'll see. If it doesn't work it's Feynlab Black Velvet
Very good all season tire. I’m on my first set and will likely get another set when I wear these out.

I had a set on 2 Hondas 10 years ago, the original ones and loved them!

The plan was to give my car a “quick” polish this morning.. However things didn’t go so smooth, and I never thought I’d say this but I’m about this close to strongly disliking the new Megs 210 Polish.

Has this happened to anyone else? 81% humidity, 70 degrees in the shade, I don’t know what else could’ve somehow caused this but the working time was short before this began to happen, and my polishing cycles are relatively short.

Those spots wouldn’t buff off. I needed detail spray to remove them. And the polish that did remove was way more oily than M205 on its worst day. I don’t know what else to say but so far I’m not feeling this new polish.

Back to the drawing board for the last of the M205 on my shelf. Just bearly enough to get me through the horizontal panels on my car and throw in the towel because the humidity was crazy.

Those spots tried to happen again on my 1st cycle, but I was easily able to adjust and prevent it from going any further + the M205 had much longer working time and the wipe off was a breeze. Like night & day.

I should’ve never cheated on M205. Now I gotta buy another bottle of polish. No bueno for El Cheapo.

Post this on my Everest thread, but figured I’d post it here too…

Started the paint work on the Jeep today. Will hopefully finish this by Sunday.

Whats a milkbar?

milkbar or Fish n chip shop these day's is a store where you can buy hot food and cold drinks and of course mixed lollies. Not many around these day's as they were the place to hang out in the 80s 90s to get the chicks.

Me and my brother and sister in law we were getting some fresh hot chips with chicken salt and i saw the guy outside spitting onto a cloth and we all had a little laugh to ourselves.

I have no idea what you just said, but you make that $hit sound good............... ;)

I think they were originally called a milkbar because they sold milk shakes, along with take away food, like burgers, fish n chips, chiko rolls, pluto pups, potato cakes (called potato scallops north of the Vic border), corn dogs, fish cakes, calamari rings etc.

I think I've just made it worse now.

Also just gave the Qashqai a wipe down with Bowden's Boss Gloss, it was a little dusty. View attachment 74027

I did a RW on the ES this evening, it was gritty. Used 1.5 oz of Feynlab RW solution in 3.5 gallons of water and tried out a new sponge given to me by my buddy, it's Adam's version of the BRS. I always pre-treat everything and used 🪣🪣 & grit guards, ofcoarse. This stuff C L E A N S

For the tires/wheels I used Alien Kleen to pre-treat the tires and wells and Brake Buster for the rims and on the tires too. All 4 brushes did their thing and I was done...then it started to sprinkle

There was a bloke cleaning his windscreen outside by spitting on a cloth and wiping it all over the glass. Chicken salt on chips and a cold coke is spot on.

After two coats of 303 Graphene separated by a 2-3 days (1st was last weekend and polishing with BF One Step) and after this mornings application of DoDo Juice Diamond White Wax the X3 is done!!

I also hit the wheels with DoDo Juice Future Armor as well.

I must say the Diamond White Wax gave it an extra pop in gloss and shimmer! Of course with the car being white it’s hard to tell in pictures but trust me it gave it an extra pop!

Her car is actually looking better than mine right now (mine is dirty right now...) but I’ll be hitting mine this weekend or next time and weather permitting.

Watched a video when 303 graphene was released and the lead chemist said 303 can go ontop of any exsisting product, not sure if the reverse is true, keep us posted BTW that white is W H I T E

I always forget a before picture.

Cleaned up my wife’s ride. Trust me when I say the exterior was extremely dirty. Mud everywhere.

Washed with 3D Pink, DoDo Juice wash mitt.
Meguiars D143 on wheels and tires
PFM dry.
DG Aquawax.
DG253 on tires and the black plastic areas.

Interior was vacuumed, wiped down with Megs QID and seats got Blackfire Leather Complete. Door jambs done with ONR.

Check out the mud from the wheel wells:

Paint is a little more slick with the wax on top of it, it says it has a 24 hour cure period so we’ll see in the morning.

Took delivery of a 2021 Explorer ST and tried some Griots 3-1 Ceramic. End result is pretty good but it really streaked badly. Im thinking it was the extreme humidity. Thankfully the dealer didn't touch it when it rolled off the truck.

Our parking lot got resurfaced this morning so the ES is out on the street overnight. I'm going to C&C tomorrow morning and needed it freshened up so I don't have to do it in the morning. In my quest for using up/revisiting old favs I reached for another one this evening...Kenotek Showroom Shine

This is another great quick detailer that's so much more, kinda like BSD IMO. It made quick work of the little bit of dust and a couple different sap marks I've never seen before because I don't usually park there.

Once done there I wiped down the tires with Gyeon Tire cleaner and followed that up with a light coat of Adam's graphene tire dressing. I also wiped the spokes and lip of the wheels with Kenotek.

I finished up with a quick vac and spraying of CG's Black Frost in the interior and now I'm running a load of mf towels using Rags to Riches, really liking this but not sure it's replacing 3D Towel Kleen due to its incredible value and work ethic
