I took a break from my international plotting and got a car ready for winter. The more often used family vehicle got new brakes, new tires and an alignment last week so I started Friday night and just finished. I ended up doing:

Scrubbed the new tires and wheels to remove the installation grease. Used some BH and Sonax wheel cleaners.

Armour Detail and 3D Pre-Soak decon washes

Iron decon

Some road paint removal

Clay towel

(First big oopsie when I forgot one mostly full clay lube bottle rolled under and scared the out of me when I rolled over it)

A light polish on the piano black - my first run at it with the mini SPTA. Could do better but again, it's the more often used DD.

Upon inspection of the paint, I'm still really happy with the pearlescent white and minimal swirling so I decided to keep it at a one day job and not do much paint polish.

PA Cosmic Spray primer
PA Cosmic V2 (two coats)
PA Cosmic Spritz to speed the cure time

McKee's 10 minute paint sealant on wheels and windows

Sonixx wheel sealant over that just for good measure

Kamikaze Tire Dressing - two coats. Expensive so probably an unnecessary splurge but we'll see how it fits these tires for their first bath.

Looks good tonight (raining of course) but really looking forward to the post-cure looks.

If you were *truly* committed you’d pay the freight and have some shipped over!

Don’t ever question my addiction commitment ever…

This is pretty much your fault.

You should change your name to BudgetEnabler1.

Gotta loose the front plate…

Since living here I haven't had good luck "losing the plate", actually caught a break when I had my Abarth. Got pulled over and the cop gave me a $25 parking ticket instead of a $125 no display ticket...I shook his hand

There's a bill in Illinois but it seems to have died. It saves this hellhole $800K a year if they didn't mandate a front plate but according to them it takes a "tool out of their toolbox" Kinda funny my home state of Michigan, where the city of Detroit is, lost their front plate law in 1986...hmmm.

I'm thinking of getting a White Sox plate, which is black w/white lettering, so it blends better. I'd have my buddy apply overlays on the W S and SOX logo as I don't want that.

I think this can be titled:

"Justifying the shipping"

Well done!

Did a rinseless with Frothe, followed by a wipe down with Amplify. Re-dressed the tires with Jescar Tire and Trim. Also a quick underhood touch up with Sonax Ceramic Ultra Slick Detailer.

Finally got around to giving my car a proper foam bath after redoing my coating and I must say that Gyeon Syncro performs much better than my old Adam’s Graphene Advanced coating. The water beading is on another level compared to Adam’s. It also reminded me just how therapeutic car washing can be.
