What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

When either Track or Drag mode is engaged, a "Track Use Only" warning is displayed on the gauge cluster for the whole time that mode is active. It will also come up if you have selected Track exhaust outside of the drive mode selection (for example, Normal drive mode with Track exhaust), or have the Track exhaust as part of a Custom drive mode. Ford are providing themselves an out by including that disclaimer, so it's on the driver for using those modes on public roads.

I can see why authorities want to curb noise emissions, I get it, not everyone wants to hear my car. But................................why does this not apply to the Harley crowd, those things are waaaaay noisier than a V8 Mustang, and yet that seems to be ignored. Does my head in.

Oh, and that's a good song too.

100% agree with the Harley rider's, there is a club house about 2to3km down the road and Jesus wept are they loud and proud 🤏

Oh the bikes are definitely the worst, we used to get a few early starters riding up our street in Sydney at 5am every morning. We still get the occasional one here, but they seem to be more considerate of their neighbours here.

I still can't believe the EPA would just take him at his word though, that he "didn't have it in track mode, honestly he didn't", I mean it even gives him a warning message.🤣

Also, I would make the FJ louder if I knew I could get away with it, but I had the HWP look at me funny as I drove off at the last RBT.

I had to dry the Qashqai today, it got rained on while on school pickup duty. So I did a sort of RW wash on it, I sprayed it liberally with Ech2o, and proceeded to dry it with multiple MFs.

Looks really smick 👌 Dave and the engine bay also a true credit to the hard work you do.

After 2 days of rain/anow and wind it moved out, for today anyways, so ran the EN through the touch-free wash but did a pre-treating using 2 oz of Labocosmetica Primus in my 1000ml Kwazzer spray bottle

Next Tuesday...66 degrees but 2 days later, 46, the joys of March in the mid-west

Had to pick my daughter up from her band recital across town and needed to kill a couple of hours so I decided to clean up my maintenance customer’s filthy CRV that hadn’t been washed since late November or Early December. Decided to see what DIY RWv2 could do. Soaked the panels in DIY and rinsed off with the water hose then did another soaking with DIY before going in for the contact wash. Can’t tell a difference between the new and old formulation since I thought v1 was great. I was impressed to see that my combo of Carpro Hydro Foam with Gyeon Cure on top was still performing quite well. The upper panels were beading very well and as I did the contact wash on the lower panels I could see the water repellency return as the dirt was removed. Forget all of the Utoob torture tests. It was nice to see a sealant survive in the real world for over three months on an unmaintained vehicle, especially when Cure is rated at 6 weeks of durability.

Once again..."the usual" before work, as well as before some snow comes in

I thought about you when I read a news story today about 3rd generation Chevy Colorados and GMC Canyons being damaged by car washes. Apparently GM has now found a fix for them. They were driving out with dents in the roof caused, they believe, by the air dryers. It didn't affect models with a sunroof, I guess because the sunroof gave it extra bracing.

I could just imagine if you traded the EN on a Colorado, thinking you got something tough and rugged, and the car wash dents it. You'd think you were cursed.

I think that's when you know you've made the panel too thin.

ugh, it seems like we may be done with snow here for the season unless we get a late storm.
I want this sort of certainty. Instead it can be 25 degrees F in the morning and 65F by evening. Going from 30 to mid-70s constantly but I just know it'll snow the second I plan anything for detailing.

Took the day off to clean up my truck and my wife's Telluride. Finished my truck off with Wolfgang's spray Sealant and the Telluride with Wolfgang Fuzion spray wax.

The hydrophobic properties of PNS are pretty amazing! I topped the truck with PNS last week and this was the first wash post PNS.20250307_131844.jpg20250307_121055.jpg20250307_132034.jpg20250307_121051.jpg

What is that “Jet” item hanging from the ceiling? Never saw that before.

It is an air filtration system. The garage was extremely dusty before I put the floor down, and this helped a lot.

I would clean a car in the garage, and the car would be dusty before I finished the final wipe. Now it stays dust free.

After a couple dreary days of rain/wet snow I got after it this morning, it was "legit" dirty

I started by pre-treating the lower sections with Labocosmetica Preludio alkaline, followed up using the new Griot's Garage RW...what a combo

It's sunny and about 38/40 degrees and although not a black water rinse bucket darker than I thought! I'll be using Labocosmetica pre-treat for RW when the car is "legit" dirty, this takes clean to a new level

Weeks of snow, slush, rain, salt, grit wreaked havoc on my wheels and paint. My quest for a clean tire just got closer to reality. After three scrubbings with LATA the tires still were not clean. Griots Garage Rubber Prep completely cleaned the tires and made them ready for their ceramic dressing. I like the results.
