What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

What’s that thing called? Isn’t it an iK foamer?
Yep...IK Foam Pro 9, love mine and you've gotta pay attention to spray pattern, when it's not a fan anymore gotta change out the little felt pad in the tip...WATCH for that little o-ring in the there though

Got my "mystery box" today, most impressive

-Villain RW sponge
-Large drying towel
-4.5 gallon crystal bucket
-Adapt WW
-Shampoo +
-Ceramic Spray Sealant
-Tire+ tire dressing
-Wheel Cleaner
-Tire dressing applicator
-(2) sets of detailing brushes
-Air freshener
-Quality sprayers/pop-up dispenser

Ok, I think I got it all

So I didn't know about that crystal bucket, big surprise there, so much so that I placed another order and got myself 2 of them, the one that came in this "mystery box" is going to my buddy for his birthday, along with a couple other items from this "mystery box", spreading the love of these products, I have to because our other buddy funnels in Adam's products exclusively

If you go to their site you'll see the NEW PRODUCTS, looks like they've teamed up with TRC for some things, looking forward to my next order from ADS

My birthday isn’t for another 4 months. That’s gonna be a long wait for a crystal clear bucket and some cleaning stuff 🤣

On a serious note, have you seen the clear turquoise buckets? I’ll see if I can find a link. They’re wicked looking.

I’m glad you got a good haul on your mystery box!

Found it. I love this bucket. It’s 25.99 though ugh.

What’s the difference between it and the Foam 12 thing you had before?
The only benefit for me is size. I attached a Xiaimo air compressor to my Foam Pro 12 so I have all of the benefits of the IK e Foam Pro 12 but it is a large sprayer. It's not an issue when I'm detailing at home but I occasionally go mobile so having an electric but much smaller sprayer when I'm on the go is worth the expense. This will now be my dedicated machine for wheel and tire cleaners, I'll repurpose my Foam Pro 12 by using it to apply Touch-Less and use my Multi Pro 12 for spraying APCs.

Are you concerned about leaving alkaline product in it? IK is coming out with alkaline versions of their sprayers/foamers, if they haven't already started to.

Yikes! I think I'd be digging into the wholesalers to find buckets at that price (CC is always a bit high on costs though)

Someone was able to recently source the Labo and ADS sprayers recently using wholesalers online. God bless the internet!

I am curious about this as well

I don't like leaving BH AF in my 12 all the time but I hate how much product gets wasted pouring it back into a a container, flushing it out, etc, plus it is cumbersome trying to pour it out through a funnel

I thought that concern raised was the material on the seals. I was wondering if you could just buy an alkaline seal rebuild kit and retrofit the regular sprayers/foamers.

They do make a lid now for the smaller ones so you could just remove the head for storage, flush it out, etc. but that doesn't help with the 12.

I actually kept BH AF in my Multi Foam Pro 2 for months during the winter before last, before I got my 12, and took it to the touchless wash with me to hit the back end of both cars before my run through the tunnel

That doesn't mean it wasn't harming it long term, but it seems to have weathered it and still functions with my wheel cleaner du jour

I would love a seal kit for both that was built for the nasty alkaline stuff

Nope. I'm too lazy to dump out what's currently in the tank. My backpack sprayer said that it's not to be used with alkaline or acidic chemicals with the caveat that it's not recommended for undiluted chemicals. Maybe it's the same for IK. It's a 1:50 dilution ratio so it should be fine..........I hope.

We are picking up some out of town company later this afternoon and the car was looking ragged. It hadn't been washed since the dealer washed it 2 weeks ago since we have had rain every day for the last few weeks. It also hasn't had a full on decon deep clean because it was still below freezing days when I took it to the dealer in early May

I decided I had time for an in the garage rinseless so I made up 4 gallons of N-914 V2, and a rinse bucket with one oz of N-914 as well

I put both Golden Sponges in as well as a few of the pink Double Flip Rinseless Towels since you guys are talking up the flat pad concept, and I still don't like the Double Flip towels for rinseless duty, even on flat horizontal surfaces

I got out the Gauntlet towels and the Amplify, filled my sprayer at 1 oz per gallon, and got with it.

After I got the roof done I opened up the garage door to get more light and started around the car.

Once I was on the vertical surfaces I saw this over the entire car after my prerinse spray down

IMG_6563 copy.jpeg
IMG_6564 copy.jpeg

Those horizontal ,lines are not anything I did and have to be remnants of the "hand wash" the dealer did, against my specific instructions. There is no telling what garbage soap or spray wax or whatever they used but you can sure see how haphazard their wiping was

I finally ran out of Amplify about half way through and I am glad to be done with it. I got out the ADS Adapt and tried that and was unimpressed with that as well. I got out some original NV Boost and did half and half on the hood and the rest of the front end and the Boost felt much slicker under the towel and on the paint

I finished up, gave the wheels a quick going over and pulled it out so I could sweep as much water out of the garage as I could

IMG_6566 copy.jpeg

I have said it before, this car is BIG

It takes all my gear to get around it

IMG_6565 copy.jpeg

It still needs a top to bottom deep cleaning

Purchased a few products for my new GTI.
Gtechniq CSL for the coating. Strongly debated Co.o2 But there is so little info, I didnt want to experiment. Seen enough info on CSL to trust that it will at least last 2 years with good care. To support the coating, i got Gtechniq iron remover and panel prep. Just going to re-use my ADS decon wash.

I also started detailing the interior. Dealing with the flu right now so tapped out early. I WAS able to apply ADS quartz to the center console piano black trim. I used some ASC from KCX as a first clean, followed by some KCX rinseless wash in a bottle for main cleaning. I figure if it wont scratch paint it should be slick enough for piano black. Finally I hit it with some gyeon prep and applied the coating.

The rest of the car is getting Gtechniq matt dash and leather shield, because I have 2 freshly opened bottles. I would use my Gyeon leather guard but its been open since january.

I will post pics after I finish.

Been a long time since I’ve posted. Truth be told, been a long time since I washed my truck. Usual 2BM with Hyperwash, Brake buster on the tires and wheels. 303 on the trim, left the tires untreated. Collinite 845 was toast on the horizontal panels. Tried a new product I got on clearance, 303 graphene. Incredibly grabby wiping off but since a rain storm moved through three hours later, got to see the results. Won’t buy the 303 graphene again but it seems to be beading well.

I tried the 303 graphene on my car, found it unpleasant to work with and it kept leaving little graphene dots in crevices.

That green still looks awesome. I had a similar experience with 303s Graphene product, I still have a little bit left. I did notice when I used it on the silver and white it had a darkening effect, but the spray trigger started leaking the last time I used it, which was on my wheels. I won't be buying it again either. There's other stuff that is easier to use, lasts longer, and has equal or better beading.
