What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Finished up day two of the wife’s Beast winter prep detail. She complained her gloss black wheels aren’t as shiny as they used to be. No kidding. Three years and 85,000 miles will do that. They need to be taken off the vehicle, scrubbed clean, clayed then polished. I don’t have a Nano and I’m not about to do them by hand. May be time to look into PlastiDip... Wheels did get cleaned with Meguiar’s Water Spot Remover and a MF towel followed by IPA wipe down x2. Then they got McKee’s Wheel Coating x2. Tires got treated to 2 coats of the last of the TW Black Endura Shine kit. Sad that TW discontinued it and didn’t replace it with an appropriate substitute. Windshield got IPA wipe down x2 then coated with McKee’s Glass Coating then out in the driveway for a few pictures.

Saturday I used my new BRS and Pinnacle Rinseless Wash on my Acura, first time using both products and the third RW, I'm still learning the RW process and trying to get comfortable with the process. I'm not 100% sold on RW for my Acura since it takes just about the same amount of time as a 2BM but I think it will be beneficial during winter even though it really doesn't get that cold except for about 10 days!

Today I washed the wife's X3 with ONR and the BRS, much easier than my Acura yesterday but her paint is no where near as soft as my car and my car is black, hers is white, I'm a little more paranoid/careful with my car though.

BTW first time using Griots One Step Sealant. The client actually requested it.
I liked the ease of application and removal.
Anyone know how long it lasts?

I got about 2 months out it on the wife's Wrangler, Monica.

(That was with zero toppers. Wanted to see the durability).

Have you considered using one of those foam polishing cones that goes in a drill?

I know people use them with metal polish, but I’ve always wondered if using it with a regular polish would produce satisfactory results on something like gloss black wheels. I can’t imagine it would make them look worse, right?

Something I’ve always wanted to try, just never get the chance.

Hmmmmmm. I may just give that a whirl, so to speak. Thank you for the idea!

I think there are 2 types of those. Red (for metal) and yellow (for paint). Double check on that before you buy it. I have the red one for metal and it works really well.

The devils is making me do this.....it's Hummer Time...you can't touch that!! I'll crawl back under my rock now!

It’s funny you say that... Because this is the only vehicle I’ll ever touch with a brush! Lol.

Those H2s are massive.

Today I washed, lightly clayed, and then applied Collinite 845 to my Jeep. Tomorrow I’ll clean the interior. It’s fun having a vehicle that’s allowed to get dirty.

My lovely wife picked up the winter tires for the SS from Discount Tire this afternoon. Too soon to put them on the SS but the wheels will get cleaned and coated with GTecniq C5 in the next few days plus McKee’s Tire Coating on the Dunlops.
