What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Got a bottle of Mother's CMX delivered yesterday.
Thought I'd give it a try.

I guess you kind of get what you pay for on this one... it was under $22.

The XE had been on road trip duties again over the weekend. Was covered in dust and muddy rain. Snow foamed and two bucket washed. Also dressed the interior with CarPro Pearl. When I first started using this I wasn't a fan, but have come to like it. Probably still prefer 303 though.



The Ranger was subjected to some pretty average weather during the past week, as well as the usual work related dust and grime. Two bucket wash and some quick detailer and it's ready for another weeks work. This vehicle is supposed to be my "beater" or "don't care" car but the nature of the detailing disease means it get washed as much as the others :doh::laughing:

 
Changed my fugly SS summer wheels/tires out for my fugly winter wheels/tires. Going to Discount Tire on Thursday my day off to replace a TPMS...

Here it is in the snow this morning in Naperville.

Been really short on time so I've been attacking the detailing as I can. Cleaned as much of the polish 'overspray' off the trim as I could, still going to need a bit more work in crevices. Got the white polish residue from the pads off the trim (I learned to tape them off now). Coated everything in 303 but noticed I forgot to buff two areas so it looks bad... Rain the next 3 or 4 day so gonna tackle that once it stops raining.

Going to clean and coat the glass next, then move onto the interior. Interior isn't bad, few minutes of vacuuming and wiping down, then I can protect it with 303 as well.

This has got to be the longest detail in the history of details. I do what I can when I have time, 5 kids, lots of afterschool activities, then regular life. I've been working on it for 2 weeks now. Once exterior is done it'll be easier to keep up with, reapplying 303 when necessary, maintenance washes. Loving the ceramic coating though, makes washing much easier.

Looking good though (IMO). Picture is before cleaning the residue off the trim.

I did the same thing. I also cleaned the wheel wells while the wheels were off.

I'm soooooo glad I got my winter shoes put on last Friday, this morning's drive wasn't too bad as we didn't get too much but tomorrow morning MIGHT be different, don't care what Skilling said, I care what's actually coming down, not the European model, the RFF, ABS, TPMS or what ever alphabet soup model they wanna use to boost the ratings.

I cleaned the calipers and coated them with McKee’s Wheel Coating while making the switch. I had previously cleaned wheels and tires then coated with respective McKee’s coatings.

Thanks. I always try to take care of my vehicles. I traded in a '18 Ram for this one, incentives, pricing for my work and great interest rate made it a viable option. That one was black, I had it almost exactly a year. When I traded it in i was using the same sales person that i had bought it from. Their jaw hit the floor when they were walking around it, no swirls or scratches. Said it looked better than any vehicle they had on the lot.

But getting it to that maintenance stage takes time! Next house is gonna have a garage so I can work on it at 2 am if I want.

I like it a lot, it gets used much more often than the M18.
I am glad I got my tires changed yesterday the pilots wouldn't of fared very well just going to the store this morning.

Here is what my car looks like when I got home and it is still snowing quite a bit. I guess you could say its AUDI weather.
