What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Turned on the garage A/C and put a coat of Meguiar's Ultimate Wax on the Electra Glide.

No claying, polishing or anything, just a quick wipe down and another coat of wax.

I introduced a fellow detailer to the Beast as he is detailing a newer Camaro and making slow work with his Rupes random orbit. He was blown away. After only 4 section passes on the paint, it was sparkling and scratch/swirl free.

I just finished a Saturday Morning Wash

For this wash I decided to try something different, big surprise, HUH I started by using my very diluted CG's wheel cleaner in the wheel wells and let it dwell. I then grabbed the IK Foam Pro2 loaded with Brake Buster and got to it with a couple brushes. Once I was done there I reached for my Meg's HCW diluted 4:1 and liberally applied it to each wheel and let it sit and then rinsed off.

Next up was a pre-wash using 303 carwash in the IK Foam 9. I basically went over the car twice with a little leftover in the sprayer. I rinsed off and the beading from the Griot's Garage ceramic spray is incredible

I probably could've stopped there and rinsed off the car but I had another product in mind to use for the 2BM wash so I went for it. The product this time was CarPro Hydrofoam. I used 2 oz in about 3 gallons of water. The suds start out good but about half around the car they go down but that's not to say you can't feel the slickness...its there! Once I was done I rinsed the car down and the beading....W H O A I finished with using free flowing water and dried with the Sucker Jr. Dried the tires/wheels, jams and engine bay like normal and now its FRESH!

It's so nice being able to go outside and wash the car and breathe, for us here in Chicagoland this week it's been muggy (muggy for us) and hot, 97 Monday and mid to upper 90's the rest of the week, some storms but now it's beautiful for the weekend, low humidity and 81 today and tomorrow.

I'll probably dress the tires with a light application of something but the Auto-Fanatic "Holeshot" tire dressing is still looking great

Roger, storms? What storms? We’re dry as dust down here. With the cool weather we were hoping for rain so we can use the fire pit but if I did that now they’d arrest me for arson!

After a buddy of mine posted pics of his engine bay I decided to go out and "spruce up" my own. It was pretty clean but I thought "what the heck". Grabbed the 303 protectant and got to work...BAM

It's a daily driver but it's ok to have a detailed engine bay. It's not perfect but it's pretty nice

Looking good, I do mine every 4-6 weeks with 303 too!

Uber waterless, then gave the updated Meguiars Quik Wax another try. It does take a little more buffing than it used to, but it definitely is slicker and the water behavior is more like UFF which is great. (Dry horizontal panels after a short highway ride post rain)

Love Ruby Red! Nice work.

This weekend included finishing up a full correction on a fairly hammered Tesla. Full write up coming soon.

The first day of Spring arrived with some absolutely beautiful weather, perfectly timed for my day off. With no appointments to attend or after hours paperwork to do, the day was dedicated to some detailing therapy.

After having spent yesterday at the dealer for it's annual service, the XR8 needed a wash. (I don't even have to ask them to NOT WASH it now!)

Also took the opportunity to coat the rear bumper insert with DLUX.

With all the gear out, it would have been rude to not do the Mustang as well.

I had a great day in the Therapy Centre, the phone was on silent, podcast in my ears, sun shining, and no PEOPLE to annoy me. BLISS!

That reminds me, I took the FJ in for an alignment a couple of weeks back, I completely forgot to tell them "DO NOT SPRAY ANY OF THAT SHINY SH1T ON MY TYRES". I saw it parked out the front when I walked back, big black shiny tyres, cue the random swear words. My fault, but it's only just starting to wear off now, we haven't had any rain for a few weeks.

Also, what podcasts do you listen to?
I'm partial to true crime and some science based skepticism.
