What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

That reminds me, I took the FJ in for an alignment a couple of weeks back, I completely forgot to tell them "DO NOT SPRAY ANY OF THAT SHINY SH1T ON MY TYRES". I saw it parked out the front when I walked back, big black shiny tyres, cue the random swear words. My fault, but it's only just starting to wear off now, we haven't had any rain for a few weeks.

Also, what podcasts do you listen to?
I'm partial to true crime and some science based skepticism.

I leave a friendly note on the gear selector when I send my cars in for attention. It also ends up being noted on the job card.

Podcasts, love them here, is my current list -

Autoline After Hours - I like the inside info on car industry.
Everyday Driver - these guys think like I do about cars.
Below the Bonnet - V8 Supercars drivers David Reynolds and Michael Caruso, quite funny.
CarExpert - general car info and news.
The Autoblog Podcast - again, general car stuff and reviews.
Dialed In Podcast - Started off hating him but quite enjoy his rants now.
The Smoking Tire - I like how casual this one is.
Rusty's Garage - Australian motor sport interviews.
The V8 Sleuth - Again, motor sport interviews.

I'm sensing a theme here. I've added those to my list, 3 - 4 hours a day walking the dogs means I really chew through them.

To keep on subject, I had to clean the front passenger side tyre on the Qashqai, Mum drove it around the corner and managed to scrape it on a gutter, fortunately no wheel damage, but it had so much cement dust on it, it looked like a white wall.

Part of my day job sometimes involves me working alone so I listen to them whilst I work. Great way to keep the mind active.

I get that, you can only listen to your favourite music so many times before you start to hate it, and with podcasts, you can still hear what's going on around you.

I'd like to suggest the Drew and Mike Podcast

I bought this adjustable work platform today. So I can reach the whole roof of my FJ easily. Since I lifted it, I can't reach the middle of the roof without opening both doors, then hanging on with one hand while working with the other. Each leg is independently adjustable between 60 and 90 cm. The 150kg weight capacity helps to, most of the others are 120kg, and I'm just over that. View attachment 70823

Ha ha, I knew I forgot one. The host often remarks about his Australian listeners.

Received money from my boss to buy a bunch of materials to do her Mustang. Its artic white and has not been taken care of. Made sure to do it Mike style and set expectation that it wont be "perfect" but she really liked how my Fusion turned out. Told her she would have to start washing her car more than once a year!

What are you planning on buying?

So after a 300+ mile drive in from Chicagoland to back home in the D for my 2nd oldest daughters wedding...and driving in the rain afterwards on my way to my Mom and step Dad's house, I decided to wash the ES as it was legitimately dirty.

I always carry a full 1000 ML Kwazzer filled with N914 so I got after it. No problem with the WW, used 5 plush mf towels. Once I was done I used Brake Buster on the tires/rims and a brush my step Dad had. Now it's all clean for when my sister comes over as I'm sure her ride will be clean too

WGTSR and Glaze. Gonna do my test spot with LC White pad and Glaze to see if that's enough. I also have LC Orange. Not sure if if LC White and Glaze isnt enough should I go to LC Orange and Glaze or go to LC Orange with TSR.

Car is an outdoor car and sits under some trees.

This is a question only you can answer with test spots. ;)

Made these scratches disappear (well mostly) on the rear view mirror on my wife’s car

I think your sequence sounds logical.

I spent the day unwinding with some detailing therapy. My "Sunday" is Tuesday if that makes sense, and having been flat out at work, pottering away in the garage was exactly what I needed.

My fathers Ranger was my subject today, being due for it's monthly detail.

Even my other red Mustang comes up great with EliXir.

And because I'm completely nuts, my new lawn mower got some attention. :D

I decided to have another go at the faint water spots left on the Qashqai, there so faint that nobody else notices them, but I do. I used some Scholl S20 on a MF pad, then a quick go over with Menzerna Power Protect Ultra, with a wipedown using Concours Clarity in between. I only did the hood this afternoon, the roof is probably a little worse, so that's a job for tomorrow, I'll get to test out the new work platform. In the first pic you can see one of the spots at the top of the light reflection. View attachment 70896View attachment 70897View attachment 70898
