What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Another week, another dirty workhorse. Perhaps I should stop indulging in circle work at the local green waste tip. :laughing: As a result and alone with my usual process, I decided I needed to give the tires a good scrub today.





Washed the Ranger with Reset, Bead Maker as the drying aid, wiped the interior over with ONR, cleaned the glass with Tru Vue (love that stuff) a spritz Anglewax Bliss under the seats and finished up by dressed the tires with Hyper Dressing.
 
Got some fresh air this afternoon. A cool 40 degrees and sunny. Wash/detail on the truck. Also a quick wash on her Escape. Yesterday i did a engine detail on the truck. Also cleaned the K&N cabin filter and dry flow air filter. Still waiting for it to dry so i can reinstall it.
 
I have a device called a catchcan that helps detail my engines internal by keeping sh!t that looks like THIS out of my engine oil, which happens to be 3 quarts of Eco Mobil 1 0w30 and 1 quart Motul 5w40 (had 1 quart of the later left over, that's why). These D.I. engines need all the help they can to stay cleaner internally...here's the proof catchcans DO work.

The last time I emptied the can was the first or second week of November. Also while pouring into an old plastic Coke bottle it ended up being "chunky" like very expired milk, I don't want that sh!t in MY engine

Who would have thought 57 degrees on Christmas eve day in PA? When you get a day like that, you take advantage of it! Another coat of TW HS SC.

Meanwhile on the other side of the world, it was 97. :laughing:
 
We have a very unique Christmas tradition here. After lunch, we do a little bit of festive detailing on my sisters car....................and burn off some excess calories! :laughing:

Apart from gifting my sister a clean car, I had an ulterior motive with today's detailing, I wanted to try two new products. :laughing:

After reading so many raves regarding Duragloss 253, I could not resist adding yet another tire dressing to my war chest. I can now see why it is so well regarded!







I also had a play around with Gyeon Q2M Interior Detailer. This product can be used across a variety of surfaces, including screens and gloss trims. I doesn't leave anything behind like Megs QID but does leave a matte non-greasy finish.

Hopefully it lasts for her but I didn't have great durability with DG253 on the stock Turanza's on my 3 (mine were EL440's). When I got new tires it started lasting longer.

It works best if you start with a thoroughly clean tire.

Same here. (For my truck).

I do keep Griot's Black Satin aerosol on hand for the wife's Nitto Grapplers. No way in hell I'm hand-applying anything to those gnarly-ass things. Lol.
 
Early yesterday before the family began to arrive I cleaned up some carpet out of a 1978 Sesna for a buddy who is a broker. Came out pretty nice for 43 year old carpet.

Pre-Treatment, Drill Brush, garden hosed until clear, squeegee, then extracted to 95% and then hung dry with fan until 100% ready to be picked up. 30 minutes to clean and a couple hours of drying. Spent another 15 minutes with the sewing machine to tie up just a few loose ends. Could have done more but it was supposed to be a quick job.

So the ES was inneed of its weekly maintenance wash and since I'm free for most of the day today the ES recieved it Christmas gift

I decided on a N914 WW but I spiked the almost half empty gallon of pre-mixed N914 w/ 3 ounces of Griot's Garage Brillant Shine rinseless wash and a 1/2 gallon of fresh distilled. Once that was done I grabbed my trusty 1000 ML Kwazzer, 5 LM Jack plush, edgeless mf towels and a single thinner mf for the glass and got crackin'

This mixture did a GREAT job as they're both pure cleaners and the ES needed it too, between overnight frosts, sprinkles, driving on wet roads but nonetheless the ES came out great

I used the same mixture on the tires/wheels and wells. Used a designated mf towel to clean the tires (lots of dirt came off), wheels were pretty grubby and also wiped out the wells too, a clean sweep! I also didn't forget the jams and my polished JUN B.L. S.S. muffler and tips either.

After lunch I'm going to top up the tires w/ a light coat of TWHS graphene spray tire coating (pic shown is what they look like after drying) and probably wipe down the interior with Inside Job, again, a light application and finishing it off w/ TWHS Leather Mist on the seats, shiftknob and door panel inserts

I've got a load of mf towels going right now, including 6 Griot's Garage detailing PFM's too, can't wait to try those out
