What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Quick Frothe wash with an N -914 drying aid. Trying not to use any LSP’s due to being coated soon.

This is obsurd

I'm not blaming Brian but fir whatever reason everyone seems to think this Ivan guy walks on water, I don't get it one bit. He's very smug and tries to be funny, not a fan one bit...let's discuss this video

Woah why is he using that brush on the paint? I will say ONR is the one RW that does encapsulate well. Zwitterionic.

He does come across a bit smug I agree.

All this stuff is exactly what I was talking about why I won't watch YouTube detailers.

It's like when the whole Pan debacle went down. All these videos came out with opinions and reactions and whatever. All of it = more clicks = more $$$ in their pocket. Gross.

I feel bad for the young kids who are getting exposed to all this stuff who are left thinking you've gotta be super outlandish in order to be seen in life.

Brian, Pan, Ivan, Ammo Larry, OG Garage, Forensic, Car Craft Auto Sandro, Mike P., Budget, The Guz … they’re just people working “hard” to share their passion/expertise on a subject, make a living, and/or have the opportunity to try out new products without the large expense. You can’t really get mad at them for trying to make a living(some more transparently than others).

In capitalism you can provide some service; information and maybe some “entertainment” and in exchange receive payment; praise, money, product to try… like everything you’re exposed to it’s up to you to decide what’s what and which one you’re confident in trusting. There are plenty of users here who are given products to try out and give their opinion, just the fact that they didn’t have to pay for something can create an unconscious bias to perhaps view the product slightly more positively than they would otherwise.

I may not enjoy how some of the content creators/influencers market themselves and their clients products, but they may have information directly from the industry(suppliers or manufacturers they represent) that I wouldn’t have access to, otherwise I just watch the people that I feel offer content that I appreciate without being overly “salesy” in their delivery.

Poor Yvan. He’s a sharp guy that has a lot of knowledge but his way is not the only way. He does make valid points here and there.

Chelsea is another one. I watched one video of hers maybe last year or 2 years ago. She said it was not a sponsored Turtle Wax video and yet is wearing all the TW stuff they gave her. She does the same with Mckee’s. Oh please stop it

*Smashes Bosko's bell* (I mean that as cleanly as possible! )

That's what the kids are doing these days, isn't it?

I shoulda added more emojis (what seems to be the easiest tone clarifying tool for posting on the internet) to make my sarcasm clearer - I was totally kidding. I hate todays trend of everyone running out to badmouth companies without giving their customer service a chance to, ya know, provide customer service.

I also can't stand all the cringeworthy thumbnails that all the videos have, just desperate to get people to click...

The whole people getting paid for views/etc is what's really ruined YouTube as a resource for me. I really don't watch any videos. The fact that you don't know if you're gonna get some super high production quality video, or some guy's cell phone video that spends half the time pointed away from what they're talking about - buy you had to watch that ad first so (I'm assuming) they got paid. Also I'm just not into a lot of the drama that seems to come in with the YouTuber "fame".

Dang dude my feelings are hurt

Thanks man. Some of us aren’t getting rich off YouTube. I could if I really put 100% effort rather than 50% at best. I just pass along certain today bits here and there.

I never say subscribe, like blah blah. Everyone is a grown up and they can make that deceit in on their own.

Loach can chime in on this but making content is not easy. To stay relevant and eventually hitting that burn out wall. I don’t blame him for taking a break.

Best thing I did was unsubscribe from all those channels other than Loach and the main brand channels. Less noise.

I didn’t watch every minute of the video so might have missed something.

I've been doing rinseless washes for nine years on a vehicle with very soft black paint. I've learned to minimize the scratches, although it’s almost impossible to avoid them entirely, but never making direct eye-contact with the car also seems to help, In any case, there’s no way I would use a brush, and will stick with the multiple towels method.

I try not to let my car get that dirty, but can someone please explain how doing a prewash on a heavily soiled car with a pressure washer is safe, whether following up with a rinseless or traditional wash? Can't the high pressure of the water create scratches as it moves the dirt across the paint? If the car is really dirty, I think it would be safer to spray the car with the rinesless solution first so it helps encapsulate the dirt, much like foaming a car does, then pressure wash or rinse it, and then do a rinseless wash.

Absolutely… the effort it takes was in the front of my head but I forgot to mention that too (evidence of how difficult it can be). Try to setup cameras, shots, script the important points you’d like to get across, then once you’ve “filmed” it all then go to the computer and edit, sync, add graphics, fix audio, etc… to make something succinct and watchable and then getting it uploaded to the Tube.

People don’t appreciate how much work “producing” the videos are, I used to make track day videos and other home movies for myself and friends. Getting stuff that’s just watchable can be a feat into itself.

How much was left after your truck?

About a 1/3 can...I did the roof and hood with 2 coats.....I went a little heavy on the whole thing...probly would have saved on a bit if I didnt have 7 cans...lol

So in 40 degree weather with sleet and rain I did an underhood detail and maintenance wash to the Kia....had a bundle of fun, it's great when you can feel your fingers...:xyxthumbs:

I got my winter and summer tires changed over this weekend at my son's house and the winter ones put away in storage

I had been waiting to finish cleaning out the back of the 4Runner until that chore was over

I spent several hours yesterday and today vacuuming and deep cleaning all the plastic and vinyl and windows

I got about half of the headliner vacuumed out as well

I still have the hatch to deep clean but my shoulder gave out for today

It is such an awkward position anyway and although its been a year since my shoulder was repaired I still don't have all my strength and stamina back yet, although my range of motion is almost 100%

I also got a tracking number yesterday from Autofiber for my replacement Ninja Scrubber so hooray for good customer service
