What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

So most people, including my g/f, was happy after the pre-wash/touch-free wash but WE ALL aren't most people, so when I got home from the oil change (synthetic 5w30 BTW) I did a WW, a Feynlab WW at that! Once done with that I also re-cleaned the tires & wheels and it pulled BROWN out of them, remember, I pre-cleaned them at the touch-free wash w/Bilt-Hamber Surfex before going into the wash, also foamed them with the "cocktail" pre-wash

Once the tires were dry I applied a single, good coat of Griot's Garage Ceramic tire dressing and I'm going to predict this right here, right now...Once tried by people, it's going to be their GO TO tire product for 2023

Seems to be the case based on availability. I've been watching and on Griot's now all but the gallon size is sold out. Never available anywhere else.

Griot's shipping is overpriced. Costs almost as much the chemicals themselves.

So before taking my g/f's Cruze in for an oil change I got it washed. It was very dirty, the p/s rear tire looked like it went off-roading

For the tires/wheels I used Bilt-Hamber Surfex @3:1 and my Mother's tire and wheel brush. Then I made a special mix in the IK Foam Pro 12...4 oz of Bilt-Hamber Auto-foam, 1 oz of DIY Detail Incredible Suds & 1 oz of DIY Detail All Clean and foamed it down and ran through the touch-free wash. The very bottom panels have a very light haze of traffic film, not too bad!

How do you find the Cruze?

These were sold in Australia between 2009 right through until GM killed the Holden brand completely. The earlier ones (first gen) were a mixture of Korean made and Australian assembled. The second gen car came from Korea and was rebranded as the Astra sedan. The first gen cars were dogs, especially with transmissions and overall poor quality of build and reliability. The Cruze, along with Captiva SUV's and the Barina (Sonic) were so badly made that it put a lot off the Holden brand, contributing to the demise of the brand overall after they stopped building the RWD Commodore's.

It's basic transportation, nothing more, nothing less. The Cummins dealer I go to everyday for work has a counter guy with a Cruze and his has 300K on the clock, not a diesel either, he just takes care of it.

Unfortunately with all the Nov/Dec sales it'll be awhile before I need $69 worth of stuff at Griot's.

Their ridiculously high shipping usually has me buying their stuff at other places so I'll wait for this one too.

. Completely touchless wash. CG Sticky Snowball foam (foam cannon). Rinse. CG Glossworkz shampoo (foam cannon). Rinse. Used an Ego 650 cfm blower with stubby nozzle to dry.

Does gloss die down after a day or two? Might be tires too as I thought looked good on N tires…. Tad glossy here.

Packed up chemicals and brought inside and did a rinseless with Absolute.

We've had quite a bit of rain over the last week or so and I had to drive the truck a few times in the rain.

So today it got a waterless wash with Meguiar's D115.

It self leveled a bit but it's always about the tires, temp, cleanliness, etc.

Works killer. I was surprised how far it goes. They say 100 feet and I believe them. This model had the best reviews and the remote was small and clean.

Took the g/f's Cruze to my go to touch-free wash this evening, it's 28 who cares I always clean the windows first because touch-free washes obviously don't get the area around the wipers, plus the squeegee just does a better job.

With that out of the way I snow foamed the car. Via a recent DIY Detail YouTube video I told them the 4 oz of All Clean and 1 gallon of distilled water didn't even come close to Bilt-Hamber Auto-foam or Touchless, so they gave me a suggestion. I was told to use the 1 gallon of distilled and 8 oz of All Clean and 1 oz of their Incredible Suds, so I did and it looks like the results were great!

I used my phones flashlight and the bottom panels appear to be pretty clean, I'll see in the morning for sure but I can't complain here. Someone from their company who comments on their YT channel said their working on a strong pre-wash solution, about a year away. I'll say this about DIY Detail...they're ambitious and have shut me about their company's commitment to quality products!

I finished up by applying DIY Detail tire dressing, another product line I hope they make more "substantial" but for my needs, this product is pretty decent

Tomorrow morning the EN goes through the touch-free wash before going to a cars and coffee, using 4 oz of the new Griot's Garage Brillant Finish snow foam and 2.5 oz of DIY Detail All Clean, finished up the 16 oz bottle now, so we'll see how that does...stay "tuned" and I'll try and stay warm tomorrow morning

Yeah but at that dilution plus adding a soap makes it a lot less cost efficient than BH products.
