What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

It turns out I had already created an account with these people but hadn't bought anything

I put $108 of random stuff, all marked as "ships free" in the cart, went to check out, and of course, Alaska does not qualify for free shipping

I had 3 shipping options starting at $24 for ground to almost $100 for faster service

Now I know why I hadn't bought anything

Their free shipping offer also has some fine print regarding the people who join their "club" so you should probably check that out before you pull the trigger on a membership

It may still be a bang up deal for you people in America
Edit: Yep. Just found out im not to disclose publicly the discounts that a club member recieves, or one can get membership revoked.

Yep, anything ive searched so far has gave me a discount of minimum 25%. average so far is close to 30% and as big as 38% just on the handfull of products ive checked. For those prices all year long thats pretty huge in my book

I’m honestly glad it’s working out for you

Stuff has just gotten stupid expensive and saving a buck here and there has become more important than ever

It’s made me stop and look at what I have on hand and forced me to work some products I already have, but that aren’t my first choice, into my program

I was trying my best to keep things as simple as possible when I had to rebuild my stuff after moving back to Alaska, but it’s even more important now from a financial standpoint

Did a maintenance wash of the Mrs. bug riddled SUV after a trip to and from Atlanta. CSL + EXOv5 is holding up nicely.

I also got $45 in free high quality microfiber towels. Detailed Image sent me the wrong product. I ordered 8 Autofiber Double Flip rinseless towels, which are great if you prefer the Gary Dean method of washing, and instead sent me 8 Motherfluffer towels that I had never heard of but the quality of these towels is top notch. Contacted customer support and I get to keep the towels and they’ve already got the correct items out for shipping. I do love good customer support.

Picked up a flex pxe80 cordless set on sale this morning! Cant wait for it to arrive. Been wanted to snag one for a year or so now

I can echo the great customer sat experience with DI. It's one of the reasons they are pretty much my primary go-to online retailer for detailing stuff. Had/have you already used the Double Flip towels you did order? Sound interesting and I need to order some other stuff so might want to add them in to my next order (using Eagle edgeless for washing atm).

I’ve been using them for over a year. I actually bought them when I switched from the two bucket to one bucket method. A 3 pack is enough to wash each panel of even a large vehicle without using a wash mitt side more than once. I find they work just as good with a traditional pressure washer foam cannon wash as it does with rinseless.

Nice. Did you find it on a known site or something like Offer Up?

Cool, just ordered a dozen from DI. Wish they stocked the pink ones like at AF but I was able to get free shipping with DI so lime green will have to do.

So I just did a rinseless on the big car and used both ONR V5 and McKees N914 original version for washing with an ONR pre-rinse

The car was moderately dirty from the recent rains and was just about at the limit of my RW comfort zone

I used Autofiber double sided 700 gsm towels (gray) for wash media, Autofiber 600 gsm drying towels (charcoal), and Autofiber plush Korean 470 gsm towels (orange) for drying aid and buffing

It’s 85% humidity so the tendency was towards towel grabbiness

As far as rinseless washes go, these two are fine, like they have always been

I couldn’t tell a whole lot of difference in lubricity or cleaning power today

I have about 2/3 of a quart of each

The ONR is multipurpose as you well know and I’m not worried about eventually using it up for glass, interiors, etc

As far as the N914 goes, I don’t have a problem using that up as a RW, but I’m looking hard at the newer more lubricated washes on the market

I used Griots Ceramic Speed Shine with Crack’s hack of adding a shot of Griots Ceramic 3 in 1 Wax to the bottle on the first couple of panels as a drying aid and it works great, really lubricates the towel and is slick as snot after buffing out

Then I decided to try this stuff again

Guys, I don’t ever have a problem saying I don’t like something or it didn’t work as expected or something similar but I try not to be an ass about it

This stuff?

In my world, for my uses, it is GARBAGE

I’ve tried it multiple times on a sealed car and a ceramic coated car and it’s simply an epic fail

It’s going down the drain and I’ll save the bottle, which is absolutely the best part

I will leave it at that

I rewashed the panel and went back over it with the Gyeon QD, which I am rapidly growing fond of, and it was super slick and glossy as well

I use gray mf towels on glass and grills as you can't see the dirt as well

Ready to get rained on tomorrow at Woodward Dream Cruise.
Oberk Rinseless wash and that’s it. Car started hazing after a bit due to 80% humidity. 75° outside with a dewpoint of 70. Gross.

Do you have a spot out there? If so, where at?

So it's been rainy and kinda muggy the past couple days, supposed to rain today but I don't care (I'm sure you guys understand), so I decided to do a full wash and boost this morning...LETS GO

Started with Gyeon Tire & Griot's Garage Citrus degreaser on the rims and wheelwells, something different, why not. The tires got some browning after scrubbing, so not too bad but the Griot's Garage Citrus degreaser on the rims came out nice, forgot the ratio, probably 3:1-5:1, very impressed

Next up was the pre-wash, reached for Bilt-Hamber Touchless, 3.5 oz in my Griot's Garage foam gun, foam/dwell/rinse and the beads stood at attention...EVERYWHERE

Moving along to the 2BM and for this it was Adam's graphene carwash, 2 oz and not only does it suds but cleans VERY well, not that it had too hard of a job but my wash MIT just slid across like it was on ice or something! I rinsed down the EN and then used free flowing water for a final rinse

I decided on Ech2o as a drying aid (15:1) and once again I forgot how awesome AND versatile this product is, I'll ALWAYS have it! A couple sprays a section at a time and it dries flawlessly, leaving the EN slick and glossy

I finished up using Griot's Garage waterless wash in the door jams and engine bay, finished the job nicely

Maybe? Lol. I’m home now. But I was across Woodward from St Johns church. Do you ever make it back here for the cruise?

We got rained on a few times. I drove through very heavy rain on 696 and 275 on the drive home. Mostly dry the rest of the way. But the car is definitely not as clean as it was in that picture.

Next year I may check out memorial park, most likely Friday. Never been in there before.

Btw, numerous Grand Nationals out and about today. Every year I’m amazed at the amount of cool cars. I always give up taking pictures because there’s just too many of them. Can’t get em all!

Status: ready to apply ADS quartz in the am. Also first time using labocosmetica sidero. Mixed it 1:4 which is weakest reccomended ratio. I love it so far. The gel clings to the surface, doesnt dry quickly or risk staining like adams iron remover did.
