What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Finally had a moment to wash the truck! Gave it a quick bath and topped it off with Apex Detail BC9 as soon as the mailman dropped it off. It is an amazing product! Amazing gloss, sickness, and easy to use!

Also tried Turtle Wax Slick and Slide Pure Soap and it is great too! Great foaming and lubricantion for a liquidy (thin) soap.

The Qashqai goes in for its yearly inspection this week, and I like it to go in clean. First up was the wheels and tyres which I did with Hyper Foam, not much brown came off, but it did take the Carpro Perl off.

I didn't feel like getting the pressure washer out, so I loaded up the "foamer" that connects to the garden hose with some Reset, as you can see it doesn't really foam, but if it helps to release some of dirt it's better than not doing it, and it actually started to rain very lightly while I was doing this, I did get some funny looks from people driving by, but I'd rather do it with light rain than full sun. I then did a 2B wash with Reset.

It stopped raining, but looked like it could start again at any moment, so I moved it inside to dry it, used Ech2o and my big blue drying towel.

Moving the FJ back into the driveway I noticed it was a little dusty inside, so I gave it a wipe over with Inside Job on my Carpro MF Glove.

So ADS has 1 actual coating, right? If so, talk it up compared to other coatings you've used

It's not that I'm unhappy with my Gyeon Pure EVO but because it's open and almost years old I need a new bottle anyways and would like to try ADS possibly

They have quartz, and quartz pro. I use quartz. I never applied to get approved for the pro coating.ADS states that Quartz had 66%solids and quartz pro has 87%.

My talkup is....if it sucked i wouldnt keep using it lol. Ive only used it 3 times so far. Add 2 more to that within the next month.

Ive only been running it since april on the buick. So i cant speak to the durability claims.

Its easy to apply/wipeoff(you dont need to apply heavy), and its very slick, great water behavor.

Want any more info? Then you're just going to have to try it for yourself lol

The big car goes in tomorrow morning for the Expel PPF on the headlights and fog lights

It is going to an actual detail shop and so I wasn’t about to drop it off dirty

Unless it keeps raining like it is of course

I got everything staged and hooked up

BH AF in the IK12 for the bugs from yesterday’s drive, Megs HW in the bucket and the cannon, box o mitts, drying and QD towels, 2 step ladders, step stool, wheel bucket (not in picture) and nothing but time

I hit the front end and the rear panels with BH AF and started dwell time and got my foam cannon ready to go and hit the wheels and tires while the AF was dwelling

I hit the car with my first round of foam and as you can see the foam wasn’t foamy and the weather turned in the time the AF was dwelling
f065af703370b8316310c0f1093fb926.jpg

I decided I was going to get wet anyway so I let things roll

I had mentioned previously that the latest gallon of Megs HW was not acting as expected in both the cannon and the bucket

The foam above is ok, but just ok, so I did a bit of seat of my pants chemistry

I refilled the cannon for my contact foaming while the first foam was dwelling, and I added ONE capful of NV Snow to the cannon reservoir

Oh my gosh

I’ve never used any foam boosters but this was crazy

This was after dwelling for a good 3-4 minutes, and when it was first applied it was like shaving cream

I decided to see what a capful would do with the HW in the bucket and it did the exact same thing when I hit it with the pressure washer, it made this incredible sudsy soap

On a side note, I have been using the the Detail PoPo wash pad you see for long enough to get a good sense of what it can do and it has turned out to be amazing

It is sooooo slick on the surface compared to my chenille mitts and I have really started using the edges for spots like the roof rails and ledges and stuff

I have 4 of them but I’m going to get 4 more the next time I order from Carzilla

I was finishing my contact wash on the lower rear end and noticed some tar I hadn’t seen earlier so I wiped away the soap and hit it with Tarminator with these results

The bugs on the front were bad enough that even after Auto Foam and 2 rounds of foaming I had to use my super heavy HW mix and the Jersey scrubber side of my TRC clay scrubber to deal with them

bc6765744996aa250d9b214149edabb9.jpg

I finally got it all rinsed down and hit the wheels with my Megs HCW mix and rinsed them again and I started blowing it off with my Ego blower

I was almost done when the rain finally started so I had to pull into the garage to finish

I didn’t use a drying aid this time around

This is not a very good pic but it came out nicely

That TX is looking good, I still think they're crazy for not bringing it to Australia. It would sell well.

I never heard of adding some Snow to the wash bucket, but I haven't had a sudsing issue yet, I'll add it to my knowledge bank though, just in case.

I had mixed up the cannon liquid fresh just the other day

It might have been Deyon that was thinking that having premix sitting around for a while might be the problem but this was just a couple of days old

It was also mixed using distilled water because I was worried that something was going on with our water supply, so that’s not it either

I’m having to double the amount of Hyper Wash in both bucket and cannon to get the same results I got from the previous gallon

I will let you draw your own conclusions

Do you guys get the equivalent of the Toyota Grand Highlander?

Sounds good to me!

I bet the Pro is a little more tricky to apply/remove but probably last longer, so maybe a solid 3 yrs for Pro, 2 yrs for the regular

I've got a couple weeks to go but as a multiple user and OG, solid contributor here for a long time, I'm listening to your points

No, we get the Kluger, which is the same as your Highlander, which is why the TX would sell, it's a bigger, better Kluger.

Don't ask me where they got the Kluger name from. They couldn't use Highlander because Hyundai already trade marked it over here, it's a higher trim level on their SUVs.

ADS states 3+ years for quartz, and 5+ years for pro quartz.

If you watch the guz videos he did on both the coatings, you can learn more about it. Dont know about the quartz pro being more difficult, dont remember guz mentioning that. Quartz has a higher contact angle than pro.

Use code thankyou10 for 10%off.

That picture made me tired just looking at it. I have enough trouble working up the energy to get my two buckets (a 2 gal and a 3.5 gal) outside for rinseless, and maybe a little pump-up sprayer. I haven't even turned on my outside faucet yet.

PS I'm surprised no one commented on Dave's CarPro glove a few posts back...I think he was giving us all the finger.

I usually get everything together in the middle of the garage the evening before so all I have to do is get it out and hooked up

That way if I get lazy it is a visual reminder to get off my @$$ and go wash a car

We are slowly getting our crap moved out of the 10x20 storage unit we have had for 22+ years and into the 12x24 shed we had built, and when that is done I can move a lot of the crap along the wall behind the car and have a dedicated space for my supplies and equipment

As it is it is in bits and pieces all over the garage and sometimes I get so frustrated when I forget something in the middle of a wash and I have to go digging to see where it is

The bottom line is we have TOO MUCH CRAP and the boss is just not very motivated to get rid of a lot of it

I took the TX in for headlight and foglight PPF and I am so happy with it I made an appointment to take the UX in next Monday for the same treatment

The headlights look like they don't even have lenses anymore

They were in pristine shape anyway but they look amazing now

The EN needed a wash, off & on spotty rain on Sat & Sun, time to get after it

Today's RW choice was Labocosmetica Idrosave RW, yet ANOTHER quality, hyped up products this year and damn there's been a wave of GREAT RW's this year (Labocosmetica Idrosave, Gyeon ECO wash & ADS Hero)

Like the other products menthioned, it's a great experience using Labocosmetica Idrosave to wash your car! It's slick and glossy, smells great and I enjoy using it

So the world tour of RW's continue, come on Deyon and Big Dave, let's get Nv to produce one for 2025, Nv is an incredible brand representing
