What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I had never seen that particular one before and had never considered something like that for detailing

Do you use one?
No I don't. I saw a mobile detailer using one of those things and I was curious what it was. Would be nice to have for things like wheels and door jams.

I just bumped my coffee and sloshed it all over the side table and the arm and side of the recliner and the first thing I saw when I went to the cleaning supplies closet was a bottle of Megs Quick Detailer draped with a clean Kirkland yellow microfiber so I just wiped everything down with that. Looks and feel pretty darn clean

Now you can tell the wife: "See! We can clean furniture with this stuff too!"

There are days when my Ego is way overkill, like blowing out a wheel or jamb as you say and accidentally pointing it at the garage floor or driveway and blowing up a cloud of dust on everything

Something more precise would be appreciated

But then I get to blowing out the front end of the big car and it is such a pain that the Ego is barely enough

Obviously there is room for multiple weapons in the arsenal

LOL

That's exactly why that bottle and microfiber was in the cleaning closet, I use it on the Natuzzi leather furniture when the dog drops her slobber covered toys on the sofa or loveseat

It’s funny you say that, because I’m currently debating whether or not to ceramic coat the metal roof of the gazebo in the backyard.

Yesterday I moved all the furniture from under it and loaded the foam cannon full of Megs NXT + about 1-2oz. of Megs APC and foamed it, then used a brush on a pole to scrub it clean because it was Filthy.

This is how it looks right now all dry. I’d like to use something like Carpro Hydro or Gyeon Wetcoat but since I’d want it now I’d probably wind up using some Armor All Ceramic Wash in the foam cannon and rinsing it off to get some form of protection and hydrophobics on the surface to try and prevent it from getting so dirty for a while.

But I’m battling my inner cheapo because part of me doesn’t feel like spending $16 bucks on a bottle of Armor All that I won’t use on anything else but this project. Still debating. Lol.

I’m wondering if it would darken the surface a bit. If it could that would be pretty awesome. Then I might coat the entire house.

I can think of a lot of hard surfaces that would benefit from ceramic coating

I just can't wrap my mind around how ceramic coating can possibly work on soft flexible surfaces

Yup, I am that old

Well everything else I have that is battery is Milwaukee. However I have an old Dewalt kit that has a sawzall, circular saw, drill and light that the batteries (second set ) are shot but the tools are still good. I think these new batteries might work in those old tools. I can justify the new batteries as I will be using the blower a lot. If it was something I would only use a half dozen times a year I would just stick with my larger corded blower which does a great job once it gets plugged in but takes two hands to use it then one has to wind up and put away the 75 ft cord.

I have tons of corded tools and the great thing about them is one never has to buy batteries for them.

It’s crazy how much I don’t want to unroll and roll up an extension cord to use my side kick that I’m thinking of spending $150 to do just the roof.

I do feel the sidekick does wheels the best.

Love the green in your back yard… especially for Cali. Looks like you got a 3 legged gazebo! Guessing 4th leg out the picture or if F’d around with your money and found out!

I did a "I don't care that it's going to rain later, tonight and tomorrow" wash

This mornings RW was Griot's Garage Ceramic Rinseless Wash, 3.5 oz to 3.5 gallons of warm water & 5 yellow Eagle edgeless mfs. I chose this because the bottles getting low and I made it lower, not to say this product isn't good because it is, plus I had to see how a RW w/protection in it, like this, behaves with the ADS Quartz Coating, now 5 weeks old

The temp was 52 and overcast and the EN had only 2 days dust but had condensation on it the past 2 mornings, so you outside guys know how that can get! Once again, NO problem getting around the EN, drying each section at a time, finishing with the tires, wheels and wheelwells, also simple engine bay wipedown and done

I'm wondering if Griot's Garage is keeping this ceramic rinseless wash in their line up, gotta drop them an email because I'm thinking the new one might replace both the ceramic AND Brillant Shine rinseless...stay "tuned"

Might be the last “decent” day to get this done without frozen fingers. Took it on a quick 5 mile ride, and filled it with 93 octane and Stabil. It was about 50° out, and I washed/dried the car and put it away for winter after laying down multiple vapor barriers on the floor.

Hyperwash
Meguiars Non Acid Wheel and Tire with various brushes.
Pfm and leaf blower dry to get all of it dry.

There is still foam on the driveway almost 5 hours later.

I ordered an inflatable painting booth. It’s gonna be huge!!

Will have to set it up at my parents house as they have 13+ acres and I am in a HOA neighborhood. Pretty sure I’d get in trouble super fast painting in there

This one with the suburban is a good bit smaller than the one I ordered.

The one I ordered
33 ft long
20 ft wide
13 for tall

lol thanks, it’s not perfect by any means. While I have the stock airbox setup in my attic, I don’t have a stock exhaust on hand.
